We are representing you on a steering committee to explore astro tourism.

Here's a quick snap of Jupiter rising close to Hessary Tor on Dartmoor, as seen from the edge of Bodmin moor. If you look closely 3 of Jupiter's moons are visible, strung out in a line. Also made this quick timelapse on YouTube as Facebook video quality isn't great:

The Monkey Sanctuary is OPEN for the summer holidays 🤩

From 11am-4.30pm (last entry at 3pm) from today until 4th September (closed Mondays and Tuesdays).

As a non-profit charity, we rely heavily on support from visitors to continue our work, so your trip to see the monkeys helps us to continue their care and also allows us to keep working towards ending the UK primate pet trade.

Visit the monkeys and gain an intimate insight to a
working sanctuary. Listen to fascinating talks from the
primate care team, enjoy a bite to eat whilst admiring
the spectacular sea views then take a wonder around
the gardens to learn all about native UK wildlife and
conservation.

All visits to The Monkey Sanctuary must be booked in
advance via our website ⚠️

We look forward to seeing you all 🐒❤

The Bardic Ceremony of the Awen
The ceremony of the Awen is a short, less formal, event in the calendar of Gorsedh Kernow. During the ceremony two elders of the community are invited to hand over to two children of the community the lime wood carved ‘Book of Life’, representing the passing of wisdom from one generation to another.
The continuation of this timeless Cornish ceremony will take place this year on Sunday June 19th at 11.00am. This colourful spectacle, conducted by Cornish Bards in their robes, is to take place in the perfect setting of the, also timeless, Hurlers triple stone circle on Bodmin Moor.

SECTA

SECTA – South East Cornwall Tourism Association was formed over 35 years ago. Originally known as the Looe Hoteliers Association it soon expanded to take in all of South East Cornwall. Meetings were held once a month in members’ homes but as membership grew, larger venues were needed. Over the years our organisation has changed with the times, and is continually evolving. We offer training, support, networking, and lots more.
