Since 2010 Samedia has popped up at The Roxy Arthouse during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, appeared as a regular clubnight at venues across Edinburgh and Glasgow, hosted a stage at Nyege Nyege in Uganda and travelled to UK festivals Boomtown, We Out Here, Kelburn Garden Party and many more. When you can't come to the party, we take the party to you with the Samedia Outrider. INCOMING: We welcome you to join us at The Mash House for our monthly celebration of global club sounds of all colours and tempo. Our resident DJ team Astrojazz, Zu Zu Mamou and Mr Z come together to blend 4 hours of diverse worldwide dance sounds and tropical rythyms ancient to future, with the intention of sharing positive dancefloor enjoyment.

In the bar we welcome a well known face to many, DJ Dynamite, a passionate selector of dub and reggae sounds, to perform on his custom built Dynamite Soundsystem.

What a whirlwind week we just had - Edinburgh, Bristol, Kendal - THANKS FOR DANCING! Big up Karawane, DJ Metraletta, Ru Robinson, Chicha Morada, North Fire Sound and Roze Gold for jamming with us 👊 and venues The Mash House, The Jam Jar Bristol + Ruskins Bar Kendal for letting us do our thjng. Seeing so many faces come through the doors and get down on the dacefloor in such positive fashion gives us all the strength we need. Time for a rest, we’re back at mash on 1st March for a residents special ❤️🙏🙌

Samedia is back 1st Feb at the The Mash House with a Karawane takeover and then we are off to Bristol and Kendal for our annual West Coast mini-tour, but before that Disco Makossa returns to The Bongo Club on 10th Jan.

Our Story

The Samedia Shebeen started life in 2010 as an idea for a touring festival tent, transporting late-night party people to an imaginary jungle voodoo den cm lost township shebeen. With full, immersive set design and décor, and a soundtrack spanning old and new sounds of Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, Middle East and beyond, it has proven a big hit with people at clubs and festivals. Since 2010 Samedia has toured festival across the UK, around Europe and even built a stage on the banks of the Nile at Jinja for Nyege Nyege Festival. We can be regularly found providing the tropical flavours at Boomtown, Knockengorroch and Kelburn Garden Party.
