All the hard work is worth it when you get reviews like this....

We have stayed in many houses in and around this area over the years. This house is by far one of the best ones. It’s located in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. It is located close to everything you need and not far from all the excitement. It is by far the best stocked house we have ever been too. It has everything you could possible need in the kitchen. There are lots of towels for the bathroom, pool and kitchen. Even had beach towels to use! There were also some fun toys for the pool in the garage. It was stocked with everything you needed to get you started for your vacation like toilet paper soap etc. No complaints whatsoever. We would return to this house again if we go back to Florida next year!

2024 is booking up nicely but there are some dates available if you would like to plan now. So if you are able to travel then it would be good to book now.

Remember not to use the online forms but use an email with an attached PDF booking form. If we don't get back to you try using Facebook messenger as emails can get caught in spam filters. With all this technology you would think it would be easier wouldn't you!!!

Florida visitor toll Pass

When we went a few years ago we noticed the toll booths were gradually becoming unmanned which concerned us with possible fines through the car rental company. They can add on a hefty fee if they pay the fine for you and just take it off the card you have registered with them. We didn't want to use the car rental system as they tend to be expensive, so we looked for an alternative.

Florida Visitor Pass is what we tried. All in all, it is very good, but it did have some quirks that you need to know about.
The first being that it is ONLY in terminal A (Oct 2022). We fly BA so it was a real pain not knowing this before as we landed in terminal C, went to get the car in terminal B but then discovered you can only get it in terminal A. We certainly got our steps in that day.

Before you go download the app but do not sign up! Yes, do not sign up. This is because if you set a time that you will pick up the toll pass and you arrive late due to delays then it won't give you the pass and you have to sign up another account to get a pass. So cut out the signing up and do it when you get to the counter which is in car hire. It takes very little time and there is a person on the desk to help you out.

You then get a cardboard hanger for your rear-view mirror, pop it on making sure that the code can be seen from outside otherwise when you go through a toll and it can't be seen you will be fined.

Off you go job done. It was nice not having to stop at the tolls. You put $10 on your account and then it will deduct the amount each time you go through the toll. If you run out of credit you can top it up.

When you return make sure you take it out of the car as they will not return it for you, pop it in the marked return bins as you enter the terminal. They have them in A & B.

The other quirk is that after you return, they will delete your account, so unless you know you will think I have x credit left how do I get it back as my account has gone. Well don't worry they automatically send the credit back to your card, but it does take a good few weeks.

All in all, a good service, with cheaper toll fees than paying at the booth. Just a few quirks to iron out and hopefully them will put a desk in all three terminals in the future.

If you are looking for car hire we have just recently used discount Florida Car Hire. The price was excellent and the service better.
We had an issue with our car and as soon as we reported it they were on it to help out.

On the way home we spoke to the Alamo rep. Apparently due to hurricane Ian there are very few rental cars available. Unless booked they do not have any. The government has seconded them to help with the relief effort.
So if you haven’t booked you car hire yet it might be worth getting on it.

You may not be aware but we have lots of pool toys in the garage for your enjoyment.
Also we have added a rag box for spills. Please use these instead of the good towels inside. They can also be used to dry the pool furniture if there is a shower of rain.

We’ve tidied up the pool hose that the management company need to clean the deck and maintain the pool.
We also added a second fire extinguisher in the garage for peace of mind.

The tiki garden has also had a haircut.
We have replaced the old white chairs with some fantastic new ones. They are so comfortable.
I am finally going to get a dip in the pool and then I think I might try one out.

The front garden and tree to the right has had a hair cut to make it safe from the winds.
The eagle eyed may have also noticed that we have a new roof that was installed earlier in the year. There was nothing wrong with it but the insurance companies won’t insure you unless it is changed regularly !

The new bed mattress arrived today. We have changed and upgraded all the twin mattresses. We hope you get a great nights sleep after a fun day in the sun.
We have also changed the box spring for the master so there is no more squeaking.
