Our first walkers completed the Chiltern Ramble on Friday with some useful feedback . It was great to here Maria and Jeff loved the walk and full of praise for Richard Luxmore administration .holidaysuk and . The hotels were given the thumbs up with some inevitable quirks to be expected .

Doing the bag transfers this morning for our first walkers and noticed this on the wall of the White Hart , Nettlebed - the third nights accommodation on the trail . There are lots of references to this classic TV series along the route - the other one at Fingest . Why not come and see for yourself by visiting .holidaysuk ?

Saw this sign at the Five Horseshoes Maidengrove .... this pub would be a recommended diversion on the 2nd day of the walk . This charming pub is about half a mile from the main route .

Very proud to be able to wear the walk the Thames polo shirt just given to me by Richard Luxmore. Preparing to meet a party of walkers from Houston Texas who we guided down the Thames from source to Henley. Two years later they ate taking on the route onwards to London .

I am now the proud wearer of the official ' Walk The Thames ' polo shirt . Shortly to be put into action guiding a charming party of guests from Houston, Texas from Henley down to Windsor.. Let's hope I will not need to deliver that famous line " .....calling Houston . There may be a problem ..."

Just catching up on some research on the Chiltern Ramble route - in this case walking the 3rd day section again ( at least the morning section ) . I encountered possibly two of the most fabled pubs in South Oxon Chilterns . The Crooked Billet is famed as a gastro pub often hosting famous musicians . It's main claim to fame however was hosting the first wedding of one Kate Winslet, our local girl from Reading . The Black Horse is really tucked away in the backwoods . The bar is literally last decorated in perhaps the 1950's as Has the appearance of someone's front room . Very authentic !

My first post then .... going to involve a pint . On doing some research on Sunday we made our way through storm Kathleen from Turville up through stonor park and down through the warburg nature resserve . Fair play to the Five horseshoes in Maidensgrove.They served us a pint just past 5.00 pm there self appointed closing time . The " research " seemed a lot more palatable on the way back , the evening sun came out and the views in Stonor park were spectacular 🚶‍♂️👌😀🌤🍺
