A very ‘Happy New Year’ to you all - we wish you all the very best for 2025. 🥳

It’s approaching a year since we made our very first visit to The Tower as prospective buyers, quite possibly one of the quickest years of our lives and without doubt, one of the best adventures we’ve ever embarked on.

We will be closed for the whole of January along with the first 2 weeks of February (provisionally, in case things run over) as we have some work carried out during the quieter period (we’re fully contactable throughout should you have an enquiry).

We’re fully booked for the first half of the year with limited availability from July onwards. Please check out our website for the dates we still have available or indeed drop us a line.

Santa made a surprise appearance at the Tower today, blown off course and somewhat early!! Goodness knows where he blew in from, I’m confident he wasn’t a none paying guest at the Tower!

Nasty things these helium balloons, especially to those in the farming community where they can easily be ingested by livestock and often end in a tragic outcome. Always dispose of them safely and keep them indoors. 💨🎅🏼

A lovely little break to the Tower this last week in preparation for our guests over Christmas and New Year, I’ve had so much fun decorating it for Christmas!

Other than a few fallen trees 😢 we faired pretty well following Storm Darragh!

Seeing the woodland at this time of year is a delight and as the bracken dies back for the year the colour it leaves makes for a stunning contrast against the evergreens. Would’ve loved a little scattering of snow though!

Back to Durham today to welcome home our daughters from University for Christmas and to celebrate their 20th Birthdays tomorrow! 🎉 🥂

Check out these amazing photographs our lovely guests very kindly sent onto us following their stay last week. It’s hard to pick a favourite….patience certainly paid off to catch the beautiful dolphins playing with a piece of seaweed. ❤️

An impromptu couple of nights at the tower as our Saturday guests have had to delay their arrival.

Storm Ashley is most definitely making itself present with 60mph gusts - makes us appreciate how scary storm Arwen must’ve been back in 2021 with 100mph+

We’ve only 1 week left for a stay at the Tower this year. Availability for 7 nights or a minimum of 3 nights from Saturday 14th December 2024.

Definitely a chill in the air today but beautiful clear views of the coast. A zoom around with the lawn mower (maybe the last one of the year?) so the lovely shrooms can do their thing. 🍄🍁🌤️🌊

We’ve taken delivery of our new garden furniture for the rear decking, robust and beautifully handmade just down the road in Alnwick. Here’s hoping for a few more sunny afternoons before Autumn comes knocking….☀️🌳🍁

We’ve just spent a lovely week at the Tower, the weather was superb and I believe we’re actually leaving with a bit of a tan! We’ve given both the garden and the woodland paths a little attention, installed a new wheelie bin store, added a new sign at the entrance and relaid some stone steps to the rear garden. We had a wonderful evening with friends and thoroughly enjoyed a trip the following day to see their farm at nearby Amerside. Their passion for ‘doing it right’, protecting and nurturing wildlife and just their infectious enthusiasm is truly inspiring. We’re fully booked throughout August & September with only a couple of weeks left in October and November. Whilst the season will change the views will not and the wildlife will continue to thrive.

A quick visit today in between guests to see to the garden and to help our awesome cleaner, Beth, with the brand new linen. Sometimes it’s hard to stay focused when you’ve views like this and your mind and body has instantly gone into ‘relax’ mode!! 😌🌳🌊☀️
