Both NCN1 and the Sand Line Path are expected to be closed this week for repairs (signs have gone up). Leaving aside the poor timing and coordination, here are

Seville, €32m + 18 months = 50km of new cycleways.

King's Lynn, £6.25m + 36 months = just 1.6km of new cycleways, some barriers removed, 6 businesses helped with travel plans, some cycle parking moved to a worse location, a couple of already-broken repair stations, and ???

It's not like we're short of new cycleways needed: 2km to Clenchwarton (incl 200m across the cut bridge), 5km to Terrington St Clement, the next 4km down the river to St Germans, 2km from Hardwick to Middleton, the first 6km of the Lynn & Fakenham Greenway to get to Pott Row, Roydon, Congham and Grimston, 1km to bypass Knights's Hill roundabout and that's just the first 20km that come to mind.

I expect this could do with a few more replies. Please try not to get misled by the dodgy wording and the suggested answers for cycling which differ from cars and buses. I also suggest "Prefer not to say" your postcode because it booted me out if I entered mine (is it still paranoia if they are really out to get me? ^MJ)

Every time that someone talks about diverting through motor traffic away from a historic quayside or marketplace, the car lobby pipe up with predictions of the death of the town. Yet when visionary places do it, their streets become more vibrant and bustling, with people, chat and shopping instead of cars, fumes and dust. Which of these views would you prefer for our towns?

If you force cars out of a city it would die apparently.

Which stage of cycling development do you think West Norfolk is at? If all the Local Cycling Corridors were built, which would it be then?

Urban environments can be categorised according to three levels of customer experience: dare, able, and invited to cycle.

The next step in policy development should focus on converting an 'able-to-cycle' environment into an 'invite-to-cycle' environment.
