Often we're asked in the context of Botswana, are not the private concessions better as you can go 'off-road' in comparison to the National Parks where you can't? The simple answer is an emphatic NO. The National Parks are better protected, there is a better network of roads, actually much, much better and 'going 'off-road' can damage the vehicles being used and sometimes the wildlife deserves their space when you can't follow them, although they are not entirely bothered by being followed. (ps the private concessions are also superb but today is mobile safari day so we'll just ignore this for now 😉)

The start of an incredible sighting on our mobile safaris in Botswana from last month as a pride of 20 Lions takes down 7 Buffalo, yes that was 7 in one sitting. This eternal battle between these two species goes on and on but this is what a mobile safari is all about, being in the right place at the right time with our superb guide, Pilot Manga and our excellent staff.
This video was taken on the Savuti Marsh in the Mababe area of Chobe National Park, an area often neglected by those not in the know.
