Need a hand wrapping your Christmas gifts?

The Marlowes Shopping Centre are showing their support for their chosen charity of the year, Alzheimer’s Society, with festive wrapping and collections.

On Friday 20th December from 11am – 3pm, the Community Hub, located off Centre Court, will be host to a charity gift wrapping service. Those finishing off their Christmas shopping at The Marlowes and around town can bring their items to the friendly team, who will wrap up gifts of all shapes and sizes, for a small donation to Alzheimer’s Society.

The gifts will be priced at £1.50 for small, £2 for medium and £2.50 for large, perfect for adding a festive touch if shoppers are in a rush (or if wrapping is not their forte!).

In addition, The Marlowes are also asking for donations to this fantastic charity for deliveries to local care homes, to put a smile on the faces of those who may not have family or friends to spend Christmas with. A fantastic haul of items have already been donated to the box, located outside Deichmann, however additional items are still needed for those who would like to and are able to donate. This includes, slippers, socks, cuddly toys, games, biscuits and chocolates, gift sets, scarves and gloves.

The team from The Marlowes will be delivering the items on Monday 23rd December, with a second drop to be made in the new year to give people the opportunity to donate unwanted Christmas gifts to those who would appreciate them.

Celebrate the magic of Christmas at the Marlowes Shopping Centre this December.

The free grotto has this year been decorated as Santa’s Grotto Workshop, with a retro feel to capture the imagination of visitors young and old. Guests can meet the magical Elves, enjoy toy testing and decorating, before designing their very own creative toy for the chance to win a £100 prize bundle for the best one!

The visit then concludes with a visit to Santa himself, where children can share their wishes for the Christmas season and take home a delicious tasty treat.

Whilst the experience is free, The Marlowes are asking those who would like to and are able to, to kindly contribute with a suggested donation of £5 to their charity of the year, Alzheimer’s Society.

This year The Marlowes have also seen the arrival of brand new decorations that have truly brought the magic to the centre, with the fantastic Christmas tree in Centre Court topping it all off. The tree is complete with a festive throne and light up photo frame, perfect for a picture!

This Sunday, come and explore the Old Town Christmas Market in Hemel Hempstead, which will feature a range of festive stalls inside St Mary’s Church, in the Church Hall and the Church Grounds.

Reindeer Trail in Hemel Town Centre

This year, nine incredible reindeer, decorated by students from nine local primary schools, will be showcased in shops throughout Hemel Town Centre.

The trail offers a fantastic chance for families to celebrate creativity, explore the town, and get into the holiday spirit.

Tring Christmas Festival

Tring High Street will come alive with all things Christmas. The street will be lined with stalls selling all manner of crafts, food, drinks and more.

There will be performances of dance and music on 4 stages this year, Zebra stage on Church Square, Radley Stage in Akeman Street, P&P stage in St Peter & St Paul's church and Dolphin Square. So, there is bound to be something for everyone's taste.

You will find further Christmas stalls in the Victoria Hall selling gifts to start off your shopping list, the magically lit Memorial Garden will host Father & Mother Christmas plus two of their favourite reindeer.

Local shops will be open with gift ideas and why not book dinner at one of Tring's wonderful restaurants.

There'll be Tring Brewery beer, local gin and mulled wine a plenty and why not try your luck at the fun fair.

Ashridge House Illuminated

Ashridge House Illuminated returns for 2024, ready to light up Hertfordshire with bigger and brighter light installations than ever before.

In the Dead of the Night

Come along to the Old Town Hall for some spooky family fun on Sunday 27 October as Faceplant Theatre present 'In the Dead of the Night'.

The story follows Lily, a young girl whose wild imagination conjures up fantastical monsters from the strange noises she hears in the middle of the night.

Inflatable monsters take over Hemel Hempstead Town Centre

Hemel Hempstead is about to get a whole lot quirkier as five giant inflatable monsters prepare to invade the town centre in a unique and magical display. The town will be illuminated by these extraordinary creatures, creating a playful and interactive experience for residents and visitors alike.

This fun-filled art installation promises to transform Hemel Hempstead’s landscape, with the five colossal monsters each offering their own unique character and charm. As day turns to night, the creatures will light up, providing a spectacular show that’s sure to capture the imagination of people of all ages.

Hemel Monster Trail

Hemel Monster Trail is happening in Hemel Town Centre from Saturday, 19 October until Thursday, 31 October.

There will be 12 hidden monsters in shop windows across town.

Halloween skele-brations are coming to Hemel

The Marlowes Shopping Centre are gearing up for a Halloween spooktacular, with free events for local families.

Families can ‘Meet the Halloween Animals’ on Tuesday 29th October in Centre Court, with creepy crawlies, gentle owls and more on display for children and adults alike to get up close and personal with. Young explorers can also take on the trail for some frightfully good fun navigating around the shopping centre to enter a prize draw to win a £100 voucher for The Entertainer.

On Halloween itself, Thursday 31st October, shoppers will be able to meet the creepiest family from TV and pose for a photo with Wednesday, Morticia and Fester. There will also be fangtastic arts and crafts to enjoy to use on Halloween night.

Both events will run from 11am – 4pm in Centre Court and will also offer free face painting to transform children into creatures and characters beyond their wildest dreams.

Join the fun at 50 Fest this Sunday in celebration of Dacorum's 50th anniversary.

🥳 This weekend! Our FREE 50 Fest community event is taking place in Hemel town centre on Sunday 29 September from 11am - 5pm.

The highlight of 50 Fest will be a spectacular parade, featuring a fantastic array of colourful handmade puppets, led by community groups, residents and performers.

In Market Square, there will be a wide variety of local market, food and drink and community stalls to explore. There will also be some amazing entertainment on offer, including a BMX stunt show, acrobatic street dancers, traditional Morris dancers and activities including high ropes.

In the Water Gardens, there will be activities including Cloud 9 inflatables, a silent disco experience, quiet space/meditation, fairground games, and guided tours from the Friends of the Water Gardens at 11.30am and 2pm.

➡️ Road closures will be in place for Waterhouse Street on Sunday from 9am to 6pm. Access to residential properties will be permitted where possible. A temporary taxi rank will be set up at Water Gardens South Car Park during the event.
