Converting Olympic Legacy into Winning Business Practice

Last week as Team GB celebrated in Manchester and London, the nation congratulated the athletes on the most successful medal haul ever at the Olympic games. But the real question we have to ask is how can we benefit from the dedication and hard work of these medalists?

The often-unsung heroes of the medal achievements are the coaches and support staff, who will already have started working towards the 2020 Games in Japan. Whilst few can name any sports coaches, unless they are in football or possibly cycling, and even then possibly for the wrong reasons, professional Olympic coaches are the driving force behind Team GB’s success.

So what are the benefits of coaching for the rest of us? First coaches help people realise their potential and focus their intent. Second is their ability to deliver innovative problem solving solutions to complex decision-making issues, which in the fast paced, complex world we live in, are vital skills for success. Moreover they combine the above with an ability to lead high perfomance teams, which create and deliver elite skill development programmes, aimed at giving the recipient, a crucial performance edge over their opposition.

Coaches can provide the opportunity for a wider audience to build on the legacy and success from the Rio games by making coaching more accessible to the masses. Our aim is to enable you to access a toolbox of techniques and key insights from these elite coaches, so individuals, teams and businesses can recognize and achieve their own winning potential.

Out here in Dublin, working closely with Rory Caslin an Irish laser sailors moving from the 4.7 to the radial and looking to improve his performance. We have broken down every element of his current programme, social calendar, work commitments, gym programme, goals and much more.

A well laid out programme, with clear goals has given focus, then supported with a well balanced gym programme that incorporates all the exercises required to improve his fitness along with providing the necessary knowledge to enable self learning and development.
Lots of information of nutrition and engraining the "fail to plan, prepare to fail" focus on what should be eaten, when and how much.

Focused sessions on the water, with video analysis have enabled big improvement gains even with battling the 30 knots Dublin Bay has thrown at us most days.

Its great to have the time to work specifically on all areas of a programme and already seeing the gains made only a couple of days in is a clear indication of how well the Time on the Water programmes work.

If your interested in something similar then please don’t hesitate to contact us.
