When I visited the Mengi Yay Yachts shipyard recently to film their incredible "Serenissima I" superyacht, I had etc pleasure of meeting the legendary Carlo Nuvolari-Duodo, one half of the great Nuvolari Lenard Design studio.
He gave great insight into the thinking behind the design of the yacht, this is a "must-watch" for any aspiring !

I thoroughly enjoyed researching this video, comparing the Sanlorenzo 120A with Sunseekers 120. Two yachts of very similar sizes...with some VERY big differences.

I went to the Mengi Yay Yachts shipyard last month to film a yacht in construction that ‪ & Johnsonhave listed for sale.

Nice yacht, beautiful design, and an interesting layout. It's easy to film this kind of project, but then one of the designers said "have you told David about the Boxing Ring on the foredeck"???

My ears pricked up, the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end, and my legs started to tremble a little... A boxing ring? On a superyacht? Really?

YES. Really. This is one of the most exciting concepts I have ever heard of, and added to that a truly glorious yacht with some great features.

A few moments ago I published a video on the Yachts For Charter channel that I believe will raise the bar of promotional charter videos.

- A team of no less than SEVEN videographers and photographers
- Over a period of FOUR days
- Working on a SEVENTY SEVEN meter superyacht called "MALIA"

Above all, I wanted the video to be authentic. My team will tell you that the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end when charter managers ask me to use models on a video shoot. In my opinion, if you have to pay somebody to smile and look happy when they are on a superyacht you are doing something very wrong.

So I asked a group of local ladies from a Pilates group to spend a day on board. We shot pilates on the foredeck, spa treatments, a healthy breakfast and a sumptuous lunch. All with real people having a great time; chatting, laughing, and lapping up the experience.

I also invited a group of local businesspeople and their partners to enjoy a black tie dinner on board. We hired a superb local band called "The Phly Boyz" to play live music, and the yacht's Chef put on a sensational dinner.

The resulting video is authentic, engaging, and a lot of fun to watch.

But I'll let YOU be the judge of that!

When Fraser Yachts asked my team and I to film one of the world's largest Charter Yachts at the Genoa Charter Show I jumped at the chance.
Her Charter Manager Daniela de Marco showed me around, and I have to honestly say that this is one of the most unique yachts I have ever visited. Such a masterpiece!
My only complaint to Fraser Yachts is...could I please film her in the Bahamas next time instead of f..f..f..FREEZING COLD Genoa? 😀

I loved researching this video, so interesting to see how two builders can take yachts of a similar size and yet produce two totally different vessels!

Coming to the end of a wonderful 6 months in which my hard working and talented daughter Megan has been living with me and working at Northrop & Johnson in the “Deep Data” department.
After fulfilling her 6 month commitment to the company she is returning to Italy having acquired new friends, new skills, and a LOT of new knowledge.

When I heard that I would become Father to a baby girl I remember saying “it’s not important if she grows to be beautiful or ugly…as long as she has a great personality”. Now that she HAS grown I couldn’t wish for a daughter with a more beautiful character, and her outer beauty is just a bonus from having the DNA of her Mother!

Filming “KAJAK” in the Bahamas a few weeks ago turned out to be a memorable experience. The owners were on board and it was inspirational to say the least to talk with them.
Apart from giving me some valuable business advice, they also told me that when “KAJAK” was in the Caribbean two years ago they planned to take her to the West coast of the USA. Then…on a whim…they changed their minds and took her to the Balearics!
That’s some yacht that you can be confident in to take just about anywhere!

Receiving the latest edition of Robb Report Monaco is a great start to the day. Their CAR OF THE YEAR 2024 has made me dream of owning and Aston Martin. I now know that this is called “manifesting”.

I met the amazing who not only did an outstanding job of covering the Yachting industry, but also taught me ALOT about creating a storyline and a documentary. A really genuine, and very talented lady!

By the time I have finished preparing my presentation "Selling the Superyacht Sizzle" for the Superyacht Summit Türkiye I believe I shall probably qualify as a neurosurgeon.

The interaction between our senses, our brain, and our actions is compelling to read about, and leads me to wonder if there is one important sense that we do not give sufficient consideration to in our marketing campaigns.

Almost exactly one week to the hour of publishing the spectacular walk through video of Oceanco’s project “H”, and I’m chuffed to see it has been watched 100,000 times. Actually, in the following day it has reached the 130,000 view mark.
I’d like to say that this success is due to the charisma and brilliant script writing of the presenter, or the astonishing editing skills of the editor Yarik Ziko… but in reality it’s a pretty astonishing yacht that OceAnCo have built!

This was one of the most enjoyable walk through videos I have filmed to date. Victor Caminada of Moonen Yachts asked me to film their Moonen 110 on her debut appearance at their facility in The Netherlands and I must admit that I was worried that I may not do justice to such a great vessel.
Once I started to look around the storyboard wrote itself. Their are so many features worth mentioning, but above all their was a touch of magic about the shipyard that day. Watch to the end of the video and you'll see the unsung heroes that gave me inspiration for this production!

By reading literally thousands of viewer’s comments I have come to understand that viewers of the Yachts For Sale YouTube channel LOVE to see the engine room of the yachts that I filmed with the Northrop & Johnson in-house video team. If you are such a person then make sure you are sitting down when you watch the video of Oceanco’s sensational 105m “Project H”, that shall be published July 8th.
I have N E V E R seen anything quite like it. Oceanco have taken an existing vessel with 3 x 10,000hp engines and completely renewed and re-engineered her to be a modern superyacht meeting modern environmental standards. The engine room is immense, and the forthcoming video gives you a good insight into the technical side of the yacht as well as her amazing aesthetics!

So excited to have the opportunity to film Moonen’s awesome 110’ yacht at their facility in The Netherlands. I’m still not sure if the title for this video yet, but it should probably be called “Moonen Magic”! You’ll have to watch the video on July 2nd to find out why!

When CEO Marcel Onkenhout suggested I film a walk through video of their magnificent 105m launch “Project H” I thought that either I had misheard or I was asleep and dreaming. Marketing Director Paris Baloumis soon confirmed that he was serious however, so I flew with the Northrop & Johnson in-house video team to the OceAnco shipyard and we started filming the most exciting project of our lives. This 105m yacht is making the yachting news on an unprecedented scale, and now that I have seen her up close I can see why. She is an unprecedented yacht!!!

The F45 series has been one of my favourite yachts in the size range for a very long time, and is simply one of the best examples. We travelled to Saint Lucia to film her, and discussed her with Charter Manager Shawn Laird.

The summer has finally arrived in the South of France, and the team and I are back filming…this time with our amazing new drone the DJI Mavic 3. Palmer Johnson 120 “KJOS” liked amazing, and the crew let me try out an Old Fashioned Cherry Bomb straight from the yacht’s bar!

Videographers and have been filming from the heights of a drone to the depths of the bilge, the finished video promises to be epic. and have been doing an amazing job with this yacht!!!

I tried designing a yacht using Artificial Intelligence. The results were amazing, one Superyacht was floating in a swimming pool instead of having a pool ON it….one had the mangled wreckage of a helicopter on the top of it, and another had at least three helipads!
Is it my lack of experience using AI that is the problem?
