Visits to the brocantes and ‘vide grenier’ held most Sundays is a hugely popular activity during our painting holiday weeks here at La Salle. This week we called by nearby La Sauvetat and I discovered these beautiful hand embroidered linen sheets which I bought from Brigitte. Her initials were sewn on one edge of the fabric and decorated with tulips and open work lace. The linen sheets were ordered by her parents and sewn by nuns as part of her trousseau. Lucky for me I happened to pass by and added them to my collection!
