Sail Overlord-Offshore Cruising Club Full membership of the Offshore Cruising club is by invitation following a trial sail as a provisional member. Food, fuel and berthing fees are in adddition.

The OCC is based around the classic yacht Overlord, a magnificent 10 berth 58 foot Bermudan sloop built in 1936 by Abeking & Rasmussen of Lemverder for the Luftwaffe. The club is a body of like minded friends who share an enthusiasm for travelling both in home waters and abroad on this classic yacht . Our sailing programme includes cruises of one or 2 weeks duration, week ends in local waters and

racing both in regattas and JOG events. We offer a number of social land based events throughout the year where you can catch up with your crew mates. Sailing fees are £48 a day (£24a day for under 25,s) (2022 prices). plus provisional membership of £20, lasting 3 months. This makes it a really affordable way to participate in the sociable and at times thrilling sport of yachting

People of all ages are welcome however we cannot accept bookings from unaccompanied under 18 year olds. No previous experience is necessary, although we are currently looking to expand our team of Skippers and Mates, postiions which are open to those with RYA Yachtmaster qualifications. Full support and development is given to those with the right attributes.

The sailing season is a little delayed this year due to covid restrictions and uncertainties. Overlord is looking good following refit and purchase of new sails. We start with trips in the Solent beginning in early June, and then progress to West Country cruises before a return to the Solent in the Autumn. A few crewing opportunities remain so get in touch for information.
Next year hopefully we can cruise further afield. Scotland, Ireland, Baltic, Atlantic France, Med? Yet to be decided!
