That's right. We have a new account.

From now on, we will only be posting on one account. We are changing the name of The Yurt Hideaway to .

And using it as our main account for our three glamping sites.

and will no longer be active because, with one account, we can serve you better as our community of adventure-loving romantics!

And more changes are in the pipeline to make you happy and your booking experience with us seamless and easy. *spoiler alert right there!*

3 beaches you have to visit.

We are smack in the middle of west wales, it takes as long to go north as it does south, so why not explore both directions?

Here are a few of our favourites, Amroth for a big beach full of amenities. Mwnt for charming beauty and the chance of dolphins dancing in a sunset or skrinkle the magical beach which you can only access when the tide is right (you have climb through a cliff to get to it 🌊 ).

🌰 take a walk through the woods, nature does something good to the soul. Especially in dappled light from this beautiful sunshine we have this week.

🌰 take a soak late evening in the hot tub. Guaranteed (by us) to improve your sleep.

Trees and more trees, when we say we are in a Welsh Valley, we meant it.

The drive up the lane to the Chestnut Cabin is just beautiful. If you love bluebells come stay in early May.

Our woods are full of hidden woodland animals (about a 45min walk) we would recommend a walk in Colby Woodland gardens, Gelliwen or Green Castle Woods if you are looking for a longer woods walk 🌱

Or come stay in Autumn when all the leaves are turning orange🍂 If you asked, we couldn't tell you which is more magical!

Years of filling up bird feeders means the Cabin is now home to a plethora of birdlife.

Don't worry if you have no idea how to tell different birds apart. There is a bird book, binoculars, and food to top up the feeders keeping our little feathered visitors' happy chirping away in the hedges.

If you've been to the Cabin and loved the birds, please do send us pictures of your bird watching ventures for us to share!

An incredible post from all about nearby 📍 St. Govan’s Chapel (about 40 min drive)….

🪨 Why would there be a Chapel built into the cliff side I hear you ask…? 🏴‍☠️

St Govan was a Saint from the 6th century (some stories claim he was a hermit, some claim he was a thief). One day he was spotted and pursued by a gang of pirates. While he was running away, the cliff side parted so he was able to tuck himself away and hide. Legend has it you can even see the marks his rib cage left in the narrow spot.

St Govan decided to be safe, he would remain living in the cave. Despite the pirates sailing away. He lived off the land, fish and drinking fresh water from nearby spring.

St Govan had his own bell that he would ring to warn others of the pirates’ return. It was stolen by pirates, but later returned by angels and stored safely in a rock. You can still see ‘bell rock’ today.

At some point in the 13th century a the chapel was built near where he was buried.

📍 Dinefwr is a gem in the heart of Carmarthenshire. It is steeped in ancient Welsh Myth and Legend.

The grounds are full of deer and historic white cattle.

Capability Brown sculpted some of the beautiful landscapes surrounding the quirky and stately Newton House.

As a National Trust property, if you have a membership, don't miss the opportunity to visit. If you don't, it is still worth the trip, and you can park up and walk to the castle just outside the formal gardens.

**Tree twinning winner announcement** It was only 5 weeks ago we were celebrating Christmas. Over 400 Christmas Trees were twinned, planting 4,000 trees in Malawi this January. For more details on the project, please sign up to @fishermansrestmalawi newsletters. Well, it's long overdue, but Beth and Row finally sat down and drew out our winning name for a stay at the Chestnut Cabin. If you bought five or more baubles, we entered you into the draw. Enjoy the video. We've popped in some incredible footage of forests planted through the tree project - prepare to be amazed. P.S Storm Ana is still very much on our hearts and minds, and the team in Malawi are currently working with relief efforts to help restore essential water supplies to the 100,000+ people and, therefore, whole communities displaced by the floods.
