Epiphany in Cyprus, celebrated on January 6th, is among the oldest Christian traditions. Also known as the 12th Day of Christmas or Three Kings' Day, it holds great significance as it commemorates both the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist and the visit of the three Wise Men.

In Cyprus, the celebration includes a ritual where the Holy Cross is immersed in seawater at ports or rivers to symbolise Jesus' baptism. Young people often dive into the chilly waters to retrieve the cross, a gesture that brings the priest's blessing and the good wishes of the community. The individual who recovers the cross is especially blessed by the priest for the coming year.

Barrie and his family recently stayed at Villa 384763 in Miliou, here is what Barrie had to say on their departure:

"Great place to stay, out of the way in the hills but not too far a drive from nice restaurants, polis, Latsi, Argaka and coral Bay. Lovely quiet area surrounded by orange and pomegranate trees and lots of lizards. Highly recommend it and would book again".
