Just thought we'd share a pic of this absolute corker of a Land Rover Defender that just arrived for the weekend. The owner is from a travel experiences company. Our car Biggles feels a bit old and sheepish next to his new friend, but proud of his snorkel!

We love getting away with our whole family - children, Granny, Grandad... and often Aunties, Uncles and cousins too! It's been like a Disney movie at Brook Hall over the last few weeks. We've had close sightings of two types of deer (Roe, Muntjac), a badger and one cheeky rabbit that wandered into our courtyard. In recent years we've also seen hedgehogs in the garden, otters in the stream plus countless hawks, buzzards, herons, etc.

We have put up our Christmas trees... in November!!

Although this violates one of our primary festive rules, an early up is necessary this year as we have guests arriving on the 1st December. When do you put your Christmas tree up??

The City of Bath looks beautiful all the year round! Incredible architecture, fascinating history...as Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey puts it, "Who can be ever tired of Bath!"

Our cottages are just a half hour drive outside Bath, which makes them the perfect basecamp for you to explore the city while also enjoying the peace and quiet of the countryside.

Brook Hall Cottages, Brokerswood

We are a welcoming family living at Brook Hall in Brokerswood, a Grade I and II listed historic property. There’s evidence of a settlement here dating back as far as the 12th Century and strong links with the Tudor monarchs Henry VII and Henry VIII. As well as the historic Hall and Lodging Range there are three newly renovated cottages surrounding them which allow our guests to enjoy the old world surroundings in comfort and style.

If you’d like to come and stay, just get in touch. We love hosting guests. After more than 200 parties of staying guests, our Airbnb Superhost status means we can be pretty sure you’ll have a great time!

Willoughby Cottage. Sleeps twelve people in four bedrooms. The huge long dining table and spacious living area means this cottage is loved by large family groups, reunions of friends and any big group. Tudor Cottage. Sleeps 7 across one bedroom with King Size bed, one bedroom with adult-proof triple bunk (great fun!) and a double sofa bed in the open plan living room.
