Immersed in a season with abundant mix of sunshine and cooling showers and the resulting contrast of astonishing colours in the sky, the sea and landscapes around us. We experienced stunning bluebell carpets covering the forests, the blooming yellow gorse and white blackthorn along hillsides and shorelines with flora now changing to the purple and rich textures of midsummer green.

The season has begun with abundant sunshine and happy guests breathing in the warm scent of spring from the bluebell carpets covering the forests, the blooming yellow gorse and white blackthorn along hillsides and shorelines; feeling triumphant on top of a peak with views exceeding expectation, enjoying a leisurely boat ride on Loch Lomond following a day’s hike - it is wonderful to finally meet our guests following a winter’s work in the office.

This is our guide Pauline - so happy for the arrival of spring and our first outing exploring new routes for our small group walking holiday ‘Southern Highlands & the West Highland Way’. At Loch Ard in the Trossachs we found some fabulous views and interesting islands hugging the shore which once even housed a castle!

Dot on we headed into the season with our popular and now new edition 5 day walking holiday exploring the varied landscapes of Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park.

Based at the community owned, delightful Black Bull Inn in the pretty village of Gartmore, our adventures took us along the wooded shores of Scotland’s Queen of lakes, across romantic Loch Katrine by boat, discovering ruins of ancient settlements and refreshing our memories of Scottish history at Doun Castle, marvelling at the colours of flora making their way into spring and loved our peaceful encounter with feral goats. Accompanied by stimulating conversation, delicious tea stops and much humour this was a truly excellent start!

Cliffs, caves, coastline and the cradle of Christianity – just some of the experiences on our Three Jewels Hebridean Island Hopping tour.

On this trip we discover Staffa's famous Fingal’s Cave, inspiration for Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture; spend time on idyllic Iona with its historic Abbey and wild sandy beaches; and walk along the rugged coast of Kerrera, an island gem.

Exploring Loch Katrine yesterday through the eyes and perception of James a legally blind film maker and traveller from the USA. Unperturbed by rain, he and his camera team took in the vibrant colour palette of autumn, absorbing the landscape in amplified detail, shades and sounds. A documentary about James’ travels to find out about accessibility in different places whilst enjoying his experiences en route will be released in 2023.

Reflecting on a memorable 2022 season with wonderful visitors we are ready for 2023 to climb heather-clad hills, explore stone circles on the Outer Hebrides, sample local seafood, swim in the sea and explore the Atlantic coast by boat, sailing and walking!

We'll cherish our freedom, fresh air, nature and laughing in good company, relish the wind in our hair, the sand in our toes, mud on our boots and gather memories to last.

It’s heather time!

A very special season is coming to an end - travellers from all over the planet came hiking with us, hungry for nature and beauty, thirsty for air, space and freedom and a desire for sharing experiences, thoughts, enjoyment and laughter in good company: the toll of restrictions on lives of those past two years turned into grateful appreciation and many happy memories
