Today we were out visiting our new host family centre and homestay organiser in Kings Hill in Kent. We can takes groups of up to 100 students here and the centre is ideally located for London and the South East Coast. Just as things are looking up for international travel post Covid, the effects of Brexit are beginning to worry the educational travel industry. New entry requirements are due to take effect from 1st October which make it more unlikely that school groups from Europe will choose the UK as their destination. Europeans often travel with ID cards, with passports only being required for travel to places outside Europe. Passports will become compulsory to enter the UK and in some cases visas will be required.

Consider the financial & educational impact of no longer allowing school age children and their teachers to enter UK with just ID cards. Many of these groups come for a small number of days, the financial & organisational costs of obtaining passports and visas is prohibitive
