Recollect, however that although the ghosts which haunt the darkest recesses of an ancient city are now silent - the tales of those ordinary folk once lost to history will continue to patiently await the curious.

Should tales be told within stone - the old and much worn steps from the King's Staith in York to Ouse Bridge would have much to reveal to curious eyes and ears.

And never more so than one chilly December eve in the year 1853 as a tragedy by the water's edge begins to unfurl and two young women made good their escape.

Alas! Even at a remove of over one hundred and seventy one years - THOSE GHOSTS OF CHRISTMAS PAST have been unable to escape the attention of our erstwhile sleuth and weaver of tales.

And, as the Lady will take to the unquiet streets of YORK every WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY until the dawn of the day before Christmas Eve - our Box Office awaits the curious.

However, deep within the Brigante Archives there lies buried within a tale or three about the unassuming occupants.

For the far from faint-hearted - all will be revealed when a certain lady takes to the unquiet streets of YORK with a presentation of GHOSTS OF CHRISTMAS PAST.

From the coming of dusk on SUNDAY DECEMBER 1 until the dawn of the day before Christmas Eve - tickets await the curious!

YOUR STORYTELLER:

The Lady Brigante loves nothing more than shocking unsuspecting folk with the tale that she was abandoned at birth by gypsies and raised en famille with kindly mice in the crypt of an old church.

Alas! The truth is altogether more unremarkable...

Described as the bête noire of the long forgotten dearly departed – the Lady B is a sleuth of infamy, wanderer of unquiet graveyards and much more besides.

And as the year grows ever older throughout the long month of DECEMBER and as she takes to the unquiet streets of YORK once more - she and her raven headed cane will heed our call in the search of our long-forgotten dead.
