Recently before a meeting, the committee met in Penlee Park with the Mayor, Councillor Jonathan How to re-dedicate the replica of the Kugelbake, the previous one which was presented to the town of Penzance in 2011 unfortunately had decayed and the town workmen could not repair it any further. Mike Pryor removed the old one and copied and rebuilt a new replica. The Kugelbake is the landmark of Cuxhaven at the mouth of the River Elbe and is 30 metres high, constructed of wood. Firstly built in 1730 as a landmark for shipping.
