This Sunday saw the close of the 23/24 season close with the plate and the cup finals.

The plate was between division 1 Dunstable diamond and the premier division Black pearls.

The game saw some fantastic court play from both teams and they matched each other down the court. Pearls began to pull away after half time. But not without Diamonds defence getting some superb interceptions. But some amazing on target shooting from the pearls shooters secured the win for them with the game ending 50 goals to 21 and Black Pearls taking the plate this season.

The cup final was between Red Devils & Red Tornadoes and when these two teams meet the standard of performances from both sides never let you down for entertainment.

The first quarter was end to end with Tornadoes taking the lead 16-14. There was nothing between the two teams. With some super court play, sharp defending and superb shooting. The second half Devils took the lead and managed to maintain it. With them coming out at this years cup final winners. The game ending 58-41.

All four teams were a terrific advert for the Luton and Dunstable league and the netball played was outstanding.

Special thanks to the Umpires on the day Mel Strachan & Nicky Double who umpired the Plate Final and Carolyn Davies & June Griffith who umpired the Cup Final

Thanks to all that helped and supported. Not just on final day but throughout the whole season. Another successful season with some wonderful netball played throughout.

What a fantastic Charity Versatility Tournament today. Well done to everyone involved to make it such a great event. For the charity Women’s Aid we raised nearly £1500 an awesome achievement. Congratulations to Red Tornadoes for winning the event and thank you to everyone who played, umpired and watched. 🏀😀

Cup: unfortunately both matches were conceded

A squad from this year's Luton PDP (Player Development Programme) were selected to play as the Bedfordshire B team in the annual Under 13s Saracens Mavericks East Region County Tournament held on Saturday 18 March 2024 at the Samuel Ryder Academy, St Albans.
Beds B team played against squads from around the East Region including Hertfordshire, Norfolk, East Essex, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. This was a great opportunity and the Beds B girls gave their all in every match keeping their composure throughout. Despite not winning a match on the day the players had a great learning experience making their coaches and parents very proud. Best of luck to the next selected squad for the Invitational Tournament at the end of the month!

are seeking a WEBSITE /SOCIAL MEDIA LEAD

Bedfordshire County has several leagues of all abilities and ages offering matches and netball activity opportunities in the County. We require someone to manage the County’s social media platforms/ website to promote the County in a positive manner in the local community and improve engagement with the membership.

We are seeking a Website/Social Media Lead, ideal candidates would be individuals who have a love of netball but also the technical knowledge to be responsible for the maintenance and update of our social media channels and website. The Bedfordshire County Awards are presented annually to say a massive thank you to our volunteers within the County who work tirelessly for netball through their dedication and to recognise their achievements in netball. BEDFORDSHIRE COUNTY EVENT

We currently only have 7 umpires confirmed for this event and we need about 20. Can you please check your diary and see if you can help?

We need to find 18 to 20 umpires to help on Saturday 27th April 2024. This is the Bedford County PDP invitational in association with Saracens Mavericks.

9am until 5.30pm. Expenses covered.

All games at Bedford Academy.

A very high calibre of county appointed mentors will be available to support you.

We're ideally looking for c award above but will consider strong IOs getting ready for their C Assessment for the u13 age group.

If you're under 18 you'll need to copy in your parent or guardian as well please.
