So I've shared with you the amazing places I visited last week but what did I do during the days at sea?🌊

Well apart from the Cruaie seminars I attended (well it was a work trip afterall), sea days are never dull! There's so much to see and explore while you sail to the next port. ⚓

On both my sea days I enjoyed a hot stone massage at Lotus Spa, live jazz & crafted cocktails at Take Five. We finished off with a fabulous broadway style show and enjoyed an observational comedian 🤣.

We didn't get the chance to watch a movie under the stars in the open-air amphitheatre but what a fantastic idea!📽

How exciting!🙌

I feel absolutely privileged to be invited to the Bridge on board Sky Princess this morning whilst sailing from Skagen to Southampton.🛳

The Bridge is where they navigate and control the ship. It has a real birds eye view of the surrounding ocean and even has a Bridge wing to help maneuver alonglide the births when in port. Now that's what you call skill! 👌

Commodore Nick showed us how they navigate the waters to keep us all safe on board and how they handle different weather conditions. What a job they have, I'm not jealous of their work view in the slightest! 😆

What a pleasant surprise!😊

Not only have we had the most beautiful weather this far north, but today we docked in Skagen 🇩🇰, a traditional small fishing port town.

I love being able to just walk off the ship and explore such quaint places right on your doorstep. You never know what you'll find.🧐

We disembarked the ship later than most today, so we didn't quite have enough time to explore the grey lighthouse or museum, but here's a few pictures of what we did see!

I did find time to make a new friend though, but didn't quite catch his name, he wasn't very
Talkative! 🤣😂

Now I've visited Olso before for the day during another cruise but I saw a completely different side to it yesterday as we meandered the streets, harbour and parks. ☀️

It was so easy to walk from the cruise port and explore by foot👣

Wow, it always takes my breath away.

As we entered the stunning Norwegian Fjords, we managed squeeze in some time during our conference sessions this morning to soak up and capture the beautiful fjords as we made our way to Olso. Check out my reel!🤩

I've been very quiet on here the last few months while I focused more attention on my family.🥰

Today, after much deliberation and persistence from my family, (I think they are trying to get rid of me 🤣), I've boarded the Sky Princess cruise ship for a 5 day Scandinavian Sampler Cruise. I've mixed feelings about being away from home right now but the sun and beer is making the decision more comfortable 🙃.

🥰With so many river ship tours last week, I was undecided which one to share first. But it has to be the "Amadeus Cara". Not only because it's the first ever river cruise ship I've stepped aboard, or because this is where I spent my first night, but also because she is just beautiful.😍

Amadeus River Cruises are a well established Austrian family run business.

The Amadeus Cara is 5* luxury with a modern, elegant, yet relaxed and informal feel to it.⭐️

She sails on most European rivers and even offers golf themed river cruises. Who knew there was such a thing!🙃

The inside is light, airy and contemporary. As a nod to their Austrian routes, the Vienna cafe offers a different Austrian coffee each day! The open, spacious sun deck offers plenty of areas to relax including a BBQ area. It even has a giant chess board and shuffleboard to enjoy. ♟️

Having stayed and dined on-board, I would highly recommend this river cruise ship, the room was lovely and comfortable. The food was absolutely divine. High end quality without it being overly fussy.😋

My first trip abroad for 2024 🙌

Last week I attended the CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) River Cruise Conference in Amsterdam. I missed last year's event due to other commitments so this trip was long overdue!🫠

Over 3 days I met with key contacts in the river cruise industry at the trade event, listened to a range of speakers and learnt more about river cruising and its growth.🏞

The best bit was being invited onboard 11 different river cruise ships to look around and better understand their offering.🤩

I was also lucky enough to spend two nights on board two different ships and dine onboard 3 different ships..... the beautiful Amadeus Cara, the stunning ultra-luxury Riverside Debussy, and the wonderful family friendy Arosa Sena.⭐️

River cruise is one of the fastest growing areas of travel and I can see why! River Cruise ships can sail right into city centres so you are right in the heart of the action. What a way to see the world, and you only have to unpack once!🧳

What an amazing experience. I'll be sharing with you some insights into the different ships over the next few days, so watch this space.🤓

Recently Returned🛬

🤓Did you know that many countries require up to 6 months validity on your passport. Make sure you check what's needed for where you are travelling to.

🥸Did you also know that if you are travelling to Europe your passport must have been issued less than 10 years before the date you enter the country. This means any extra months that may have been added to your passports expiry date may not count towards the validity period needed to travel.
