🇺🇸SANTA MONICA AND UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD 🇺🇸

Latest update from us on our road trip and we are heading Into the penultimate day before we return home on Thursday.

When I book your holidays I try to advise and book what I feel is value for money, I will always say if I don’t think something is worth it.

I sell Disney and Universal Florida constantly so it’s been really good to go into the parks here to see how they compare.

From my post a few days ago I personally didn’t think Disney California was with the money but Universal Hollywood, was absolutely FANTASTIC.

It is on a much smaller scale and as I meticulously planned this road trip I ensured we went to universal today as it went into lower season ( yesterday was a bank holiday here in the USA- Labour Day)

With this in mind the park was perfect apart from a heatwave 🥵coming in and the maximum waiting time on all rides today was 20 minutes.

Bearing in mind a month ago these queues were at 120 minutes if you can go on this type of road trip as late into August as you can you will make huge savings and have a much quieter time on the parks.

Universal was fabulous, the Universal Studio tour was absolutely fantastic and takes you onto the full set of Hollywood where so many movies have been filmed.

Overall a great day and a trip into Santa Monica and we popped into Golds Gym on the way home which Rod and I have always been fans of.

It’s nearly time for our return home but this trip has been one of the best I’ve ever planned so if it’s of interest to any of you pop me a message and I’ll be happy to do a similar trip for you all in 2025.

🇺🇸VENICE BEACH AND HOLLYWOOD 🎥

The last few days we have travelled south to Los Angeles where we are staying until we leave on Thursday. We are staying just outside Venice beach which is a really bonkers place and home to MUSCLE BEACH

Now, we have both spent a lot of our life weight training and this was a must with it being the home of the main man Arnold 💪 💪

The whole vibe here is crazy. The sunsets are phenomenal, so have a look at that on my pictures and everyone just trains on the beach, skateboards, hangs out and even people walk their cats on leads 🤪the whole vibe is mad, the kids absolutely loved it.

Yesterday we went into Hollywood, we did one of the 2 hour Hollywood celeb home sightseeing tours. It’s touristy but it’s only 30 dollars 💵 per person and it’s well worth it to go looking at the homes of the rich and famous. We then headed down Hollywood Boulevard and the famous “walk of fame” and did all things “touristy” for a few hours within the madness.

Venice is about 30 mins drive to Hollywood so it’s a great base for the beaches but close enough to access the madness.

Welcome September 👋

I’ve had a record breaking August with the most travellers I’ve had departing in any moth since I set up my travel agency business over 7 years ago.

There is a myth that travel agencies are more expensive. So we survived 2 days of DISNEYLAND CALIFORNIA

There are two parks here in Disney California , Disney Californian Adventure and Disneyland

They are both accessed via the same entrance of Disneyland. and then they split into two.

You have to make park reservations here once you book your tickets and you can’t just turn up like you do in Florida.

I’ll be perfectly honest after being fortunate to of gone to Florida a few times I was a little “underwhelmed” by the California version however it is still very magical and if you are doing the trips like we have done Highway 101 or Route 66 it’s worth putting on your list and going in via Anheim for a couple of days.

We travelled down from Santa Barbara, past Malibu and then went inland to the parks and just booked a cheap basic hotel with a two bed suite for two nights a 5 minute drive to the parks.

Disney is expensive, when in, but we had a free breakfast at the hotel and came out of the parks for dinner and the usual Denny’s and all the restaurants line the streets outside so you are never too far from better priced food options.

We have now travelled down to Venice beach where we will stay for the next 5 nights just to visit all the beaches and take it easy for a few days before we come home.

Our 15 nights has been packed to the brim and we have averaged 25k in steps a day, so today is a lazy day with a book and a sunlounger and a walk out to the beach later ❤️

HISTORIC ROUTE 101 🇺🇸
PISMO BEACH AND SANTA BARBARA 🇺🇸🇺🇸

The next part of our Route 101 trip took us 2 1/2 hours down from beautiful Carmel to Pismo beach and then another 90 minutes down to the beautiful Santa Barbara 🇺🇸

Now, if I was to do it again I would bypass Pismo, it was very foggy which probably made it not as appealing but it was a bit seaside tacky for me, BUT Santa Barbara❤️❤️

OH MY, what a place.

✔️Stylish,✔️classy✔️beautiful boutique shops and fabulous restaurants.

Today we had more Mexican 🇲🇽 food which will become more plentiful down this coast as we go down into LA and I’ve been sampling a few classes of California’s local Sauvignon ❤️🇺🇸

Our onward journey takes us 2 1/2 hours for our next stop off for 2 days in Anheim which will be all things Disney 🇺🇸 🎢

I’m trying to find my inner “high fiving” and loving MICKEY for the next two days.

Luckily it’s a smaller take on Florida 😂😂

I’ll report back on that in 2 days but I promised the kids this part of the trip so it’s all HOWDY and have a GREAT DAY for the next two days 😂
