A little bit about us:

We met whilst at Uni in Switzerland.

Our paths then led us both to Africa, Nicole to the depths of Congo with her humanitarian hat on, and myself back to my roots in Kenya with my chefs hat on.

Fast forward 25 or so years and we meet again in Kent!
Go figure! 🙄

Long walks during lockdown with talks of future dreams and the call of Africa beckons again.

Our little dream to reunite under the Kenyan sky is finally becoming reality. 🌴

Our first ever vegan lamington!
"It's totally cocoliciously delicious " to quote the kids!

Chocolate peanut butter icing in the middle and dipped in classic (but vegan) chocolate lamington icing. 😋

Sadly due to Covid none of us will be with her to celebrate...so we will have to eat this without her....😭😭

If, like me (on top of 3 teenagers, a husband, 2 cats and a crazy labrador) you are tired of feeding and keeping alive yet another thing (sourdough starter), get your orders in to for his delicious sourdough, pain de campagne and sourdough focaccia. 🥖🥐

Totally delicious, made even more so by the fact that I didn't have to get up at 6 am to put the ove on!! 😉

It's Monday and we need some motivation in this house.

I'm on my second week of couch to 5k ... didn't think I would cope with the 90 seconds of running but it was actually ok...so got to keep on track.
I am NOT a runner!

Kids needed a little something for morning break to keep them motivated, so made these delicious and super bouncy muffins from . Took 5 minutes to make, 20 minutes to bake and they were all gone in less than 5 minutes!

I only got one ...😥....!

Maple was not happy...I didn't let her have any bits of banana! 🙊

Anyway....if you don't follow ...you should!

Not perfect...but totally delicious!

's hazelnut bun recipe is super easy and works very well( did not use the hazel nuts this time round, just lots of nutella!)

The school run got in the way of proving and they went slightly over...but there are none left so don't think that mattered too much.

We are just getting ready for hibernation clearly 🤣🤣🤣🤣!

A truly memorable day 6 years ago. My total chef hero. I have relied so much on his flavoursome recipes to brighten up our lockdown days and tummies!

I have struggled quite a bit with lockdown cooking, getting very bored with my usual meals and a lot of times lacking the oooooompff to cook anything at all. But as soon as I do an recipe the vavavoom is back and everyone is happy. 😀

So thank you for all your inspirational food .
I was so lucky to have been able to cook with you in person at 🙏❤
