As the music from the 2024 Chester Folk Festival fades from Kelsall Green, plans are already emerging for 2025, when the Chester Folk Festival celebrates its 50th anniversary. How many have you been to? What memories have you collected over the years? A Trio of Summer Workshops • 23 Beak Street
In the cocooning back room of our store at 23 Beak Street, we invite our ledger members to immerse themselves in one of our creative workshops.
We have several exciting workshops planned throughout the summer, beginning with a Tuscan floral arrangement this Sunday, guided by Emma Thistlethwaite ().
Ffern Artist Katy Papineau () is returning to Beak Street to run a short series of still life drawing workshops - the first one focused on expressive mark-making, and the second centred on creating a vibrant colour palette.

The two photos were taken today from either side of the Grosvenor Bridge at low tide. The video shows the weir two hours earlier. With all that water coming down the river at low tide, it s going to be an interesting sight at the weir when the tide is at it s highest later this afternoon!

To Chester Cathedral on Saturday so young one could see the Xmas trees. He was utterly mesmerised by what he heard in one corner of the cloisters, tho. Whoever you were, thank you for such a magic moment - obviously worth getting out of the buggy for!
