I saw this on Threads this morning. I've posted and blogged about it before. I started my career shooting medium format film and processing and printing colour (and b&w) myself. Because of this I learned a lot about colour and colour correction. I've always tried to emulate this in my digital editing, since I changed to fully digital in 2003. I've never understood why couples spend a considerable amount of effort choosing colours for their wedding, in their flowers, dresses, suits, ties and decor and then are happy when they receive photos that don't reflect their choices. Often desaturated, sometimes warm, sometimes light, sometimes dark. That green grass of your country wedging venue, brown!? Your pink roses, burgundy!? 🤷🏼‍♂️ it's all fads and fashions, nothing I've ever subscribed to, or ever will, hopefully the next trend WILL be natural edits and all the florist will be happy 😊 🌹

February 15th is the 11th anniversary of my first time working at The Green. I remember it well. Becca and Paul’s Winter wedding, these two were already ahead of the curve with an eco-friendly “carbon neutral” wedding day, not something many couples were thinking of back in 2014 (and thankfully, I had sold my TVR Cerbera by then, as that would have tipped the neutrality a bit!). I have loved working at Moira & Mikes beautiful Cornish wedding venue for so many weddings since that day. A week after their wedding day, I received a kind email from Morwenna asking if they could add me as a recommended supplier, as they really liked how I worked on the day. Fast-forward to the bizarre 2020, with so many Elopement weddings and on to a hectic 2022/23 season, over Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, from baking hot days to cold, wet, windy ones, we have been there for all of them! I have my first three weddings of 2025 back at The Green starting a week on Tuesday. It’s like seeing good friends, the lovely staff and the wedding team; Mike and I like to chat about cars, and often, I get to work with some of my favourite registrars in the county. Best of all though is the venue itself, I love the tranquillity of the area, the natural and stunning backdrops and the wildlife. Here’s to another 11 years!

Annnnnnnd away! 74 of 74 all wrapped up for '24 Lou & Sam's 1100 images from their 22nd December wedding delivered online on Christmas Eve and now their USB is heading to Essex!

My final wedding of 2024! Lou and Sam were married on the 22nd and had over 1000 edited photos to enjoy by Christmas Eve. They also left me this lovely review 😍. "Mark was recommended to us by our venue Rockbeare Manor and we were so pleased he was available on our wedding date.

From the beginning Mark was very warm and made us feel at complete ease. He spent some time with us before the wedding to get a feel for what we wanted out of our day.

As for the day it self, Mark just fitted in perfectly, he knew the venue so well that he just got on with it, never needing to take me or my husband away to ask questions etc - he just knew what he was doing. He is non-intrusive and warm, which was a pleasure for us and took away nerves/stress about the photos.

Mark works a long side Tristan Adams Videography often, and I would definitely recommend booking them together, as they bounce of each other and work together in such tandem. They were a great team.

As for the final photos, first of all, the turnaround time was absolutely unbelievable and so quick which we will be forever thankful for - it was done so fast without compromising on quality, as the photos are breath taking and everything I hoped for and more. Every important moment was caught and I want to print them all....!

Happy Christmas to all of my wonderful couples past, present and future, all their friends and families that have supported me and of course to all of the lovely suppliers, registrars, venue owners and staff that have looked after and helped me over the years! 2024 has been a fantastic year full of fabulous weddings and I'm looking forward to 2025 wedding season starting on the 21st of January! But until then, one wedding to edit and a well deserved break! Have a great one! Mark & Natasha plus Kelda, Yumi, Minoo, Moose, Peanut, Spicy, Yuko, Boo, Beba, Iona, Herb! (Yes we have 11 cats 🐱)

Tomorrow I'll be heading back to the stunning country house wedding venue for my 74th and last wedding of 2024! In the last year I have photographed 12 amazing weddings at Rockbeare Manor alongside some awesome suppliers, and tomorrow is no exception! Firstly Louise & Sam have booked the dream team of my friend on video my lovely wife on flowers and me on photos! Just over a week ago, a day before the storms hit Devon, lovely Amie & Jack held their perfect wedding day at the stunning I'm excited to be returning to Rockbeare a week today for my last wedding of the year. 72 wedding shot. 72 weddings edited and delivered. Both as online albums and USB's. Including Amie & Jack who were married on Friday at and have just had 1060 edited photos delivered 🎉. Two more to go for 2024. Tomorrow at and then back at Rockbeare on the 22nd for my 74th and final wedding of another awesome year! Next year is very exciting as it's my 25th year of being a self employed photographer (I was an employed photographer before that) so I'm planning lots of changes and celebrations, let's continue to Evolve!
