Corpach Shipwreck with a Ben Nevis backdrop. What a stunning coincidence. Ben Nevis is the UKs highest mountain standing at 4400 feet, it is truly magnificent. The “MV Dayspring “, a fishing vessel was built in 1975. Sadly after a huge storm in December 2011 it broke from its moorings and ran aground on Caol beach near the village of Corpach which is about 10 minutes from Fort William

Abbotsford House, Scottish Borders.
This stunning country house was built by Sir Walter Scott between 1817 and 1825.
He bought Cartleyhole farm in 1811 and set about modernising and expanding the original farmhouse. The name comes from a neighbouring Ford that was used by the Monks of Melrose Abbey.

It’s a stunning and curious building inside and out. The architecture is mainly Scots Baronial and the door to the old Tolbooth jail in Edinburgh is part of the exterior. The gardens overlook the River Tweed and it’s a lovely estate to walk around. Inside the house is a massive collection of “acquired” 😉artefacts including Mary, Queen of Scot’s’ crucifix. His study, the library and the entrance hall are definitely my favourite rooms

We visit here as part of our Scottish Borders Tour. Why not check it out at

As I have announced elsewhere, I have retired as of today and the business of Edinburgh Cab Tours is now under new ownership. If you wish to keep following Edinburgh Cab Tours my successor and good friend Stephen Maloney has created a new Instagram page for the business . I will still continue my own Instagram page but I will be changing the name so don’t be surprised when you see a different name. Thank you to everyone who has followed over the years and who have taken tours with me. Happy travels wherever you go in the future. Andy.

🌟🌟🌟VERY SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT 🌟🌟🌟

I know that it has been a while since we have posted anything on here. But we have been really, really busy over the last couple of months in preparation for a very special announcement.

You may already have noticed that we have a new business logo. My very good friend and fellow guide, Stephen Maloney, was the mastermind behind the logo change.

However, it is not only the logo that has changed but…….(drum roll please), Edinburgh Cab Tours is now under new ownership. I have decided after almost 13 years at the helm that it is time to pass on the baton to someone younger and someone with bags of energy. And it had to be someone that could be trusted to carry on providing the fantastic tours that Edinburgh Cab Tours has become renowned for.

With effect from today, Stephen Maloney is now the new owner of Edinburgh Cab Tours. Stephen has several years of tour guiding experience all over Scotland and the North of England. During that time he has provided outstanding service for us here at Edinburgh Cab Tours particularly during our busy periods…..which is pretty much always! Our guests have always sung Stephen’s praises. He is knowledgeable about all things Scottish. He has a great sense of humour. But above all, he is a real “people person.”

He is as much at home taking full day tours as he is half day tours. However, he loves multi-day tours whether it is to the far north of Scotland or to the islands of Scotland. He will even take you over the Scottish-English border to visit some of the most amazing castles. Hadrian’s Wall and the Roman fort of Vindolanda is a special favourite of his and if the city of York is part of your plans, he can organise the perfect itinerary for you.

So, if you are looking for an adventure get in touch with Stephen at Edinburgh Cab Tours.

As for me? Well, I am going to take a well-earned rest – I think it is called retirement. On a serious note, I would just like to say thank you to everyone who has booked tours with us over the years. I think that many of you started out as strangers on our tours but by the end we were friends. And some of you have continued to come back for further tours years later. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. I look forward to hearing from Stephen when some of you come back to Scotland and you tour with Edinburgh Cab Tours.

As 2024 comes to a stormy, windy and wet end here in Edinburgh, I just want to thank everyone who has been on tour with me and the other driver-guides at Edinburgh Cab Tours. We hope that we have made memories that will stay with you for years to come.

For those of you who have not visited Scotland before, here is our most recent review by Whitney who organised her tours with us for three couples attending a wedding.

For all new and returning guests we look forward to seeing you in 2025. Happy New Year when it arrives.
