I did get to the bus in time and made my way back to England without any further missteps. It wouldn’t be a typical journey without a bit of tardiness or error of judgement. Many memorable moments throughout my 11 months away. I managed to spend 10 weeks in São Paulo without having my iPhone stolen. That’s the first visit from 5 that it hasn’t happened, since my first visit for the World Cup in 2014. Still, I did get it stolen in Bogota, along with all of my electrical goods 🤷‍♂️ That was the bleakest moment but what about the best moments? Well, there were many... During my brief and intense job at Lohikan Summercamp I spent time with many charming and fun people. The kids were equally as fun and their energy was infectious. I’m glad I gave working at a Summercamp a go, and despite enjoying it, it will be the last time. I left 7 weeks early due to a fallout with management. I was fortunate to be able to stay with my dear friend Lucia in Towson, Baltimore. Many great memories during those 10 weeks, the best was visiting her daughter Laura and partner in Philadelphia. We went to the Rocky steps to run up and ate a fast food delicacy from Philadelphia, whose name I cannot remember. I think I’m going to run out of caption space if I try to out all the best memories. My week in LA with Doan, the kindest man, letting me couchsurf in his lovable apartment. Then 6 weeks volunteering on a Surfcamp in Panama. Made friends with a lovely group of volunteers, learned to surf, got an ear infection, had limited internet, meaning I had to rethink my content creation and online business. Then to Bogota for 13 weeks. Apart from the robbery, many happy moments. Stayed with Isabel and her family for 2 months. Such a warm and kind lady, who made a delicious breakfast every day and often brought me a flask of coffee! Became friends with Karol and her dogs. Yes, I should’ve paid more attention to the stops, but I have been travelling since 12:45 Brazil time yesterday. Did I sleep on the plane? Of course not. Though I did enjoy The Philadelphia Story and the first half of Singing in the Rain.

I didn’t get stuck in Rio. Though I had to buy another coach ticket. Still, I had a lovely last day there. Drank this caipirinha on my stroll towards Cristo Redentor. Our reward for a 20 minute hike up Pedra Bonita (Beautiful Stone) was this spectacular view of Rio de Janeiro. The close mountain shown later in the video is Pedra da Gávea (Rock of the Topsail), 844 metres (2,769 ft) high, making it one of the highest mountains in the world that ends directly in the ocean.
