I love my job and I love to travel so its really important to me for my clients to have the best trip but also be conscious of how and where we travel.

Take a tour with a local guide who will have the best knowledge of the area and will show you those secret hidden gem spots that sidestep the crowds. Train can be a fantastic way to travel through a country. It can be a more comfortable journey whilst seeing more of the landscape and you can break up those longer journeys with a stop-over in a lesser known town.

Ranthambore National Park reveals its past with a 10th-century fort, ancient tombs and temples, but today the tigers rule the forested gorges, their numbers increasing, along with your chances of sighting them.

🌟 𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝑴𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔....𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒚 𝑷𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆, 𝑴𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒊𝒓𝒂 🌟

I visited the beautiful island of Madeira In June 2022, staying in The Savoy Palace hotel which I thoroughly recommend. A great all-year-round destination but if you want to see whales and dolphins, visit between April and October.

📍𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
A quick and scenic 20-minute transfer from the airport and a 25-minute walk to the old town. The hotel is a stones through away from the sea so there are fantastic ocean views. You can go for a dip in the swim via a swimming area accessed from the sister hotel, The Royal Savoy, which sits just in front of the Savoy Palace. There are nice shops, bars and restaurants just outside of the hotel.

🔹 𝗦𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲
Although boutique hotel lovers may not like the size of the Savoy Palace, this large hotel is decorated with lots of interior plants with beautiful gardens surrounding the outside pool area, stunning purple flowers decorating the exterior and the plant theme extending to the restaurants and spa. It's a very comfortable hotel with modern rooms, lots of light and impeccably clean throughout.

⭐️ 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀
The hotel works really well for families, solos, groups and adults-only. There is a huge pool on the ground floor, a separate children's pool and an adults-only rooftop bar with infinity pool and I love that you can order your food and drinks from the QR code on your sun bed table. There are plenty of sun beds and cabana beds around all of the pools. If you're on a workcation, there is a nice quiet library where you can take calls which also has a cool book swap area and board games.

The spa and gym facilities are probably one the best I have seen in a hotel, they were fantastic and not crowded. The gym runs classes such as yoga and Tai-Chi and you can also book a personal trainer.

🛏 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀
We stayed in an ocean view room which I would definitely recommend. They have large balconies with furniture and the rooms that sit at either end of the hotel have large wrap around balconies with lots of outside space and 2 sun-loungers in addition to the table and chairs. I loved the turn down service and the delicious little Toblerones they left on the bed.

🍉 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸
The breakfast buffet options were excellent, lots of fresh ingredients and consideration to different dietary requirements and of course the pastry section included the delicious pastel de nata. We had lunch in the outdoor Alameda restaurant which was fantastic and surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers. You'll find great local and Mediterranean dishes on the menu. For dinner we went to Pau de Lume which provides a trendy and relaxed dining experience. The cooking is focused around coal and fire and authentic oven dishes. As well as dinner they have an all day brunch menu. If you want to spoil yourselves, head to Galáxia Skyfood and opt for their tasting menu with fantastic views from the 16th floor. Galáxia Skybar is the place for rooftop cocktails and DJ's in an adults-only setting with Vimes Entertainment Bar hosting live music, cocktail masterclasses and live sports.

We had afternoon tea which I would definitely recommend, the pastries were devine, theres a huge selection of teas (or you can go with a glass of champagne) and they were great to swap out the smoked salmon sandwiches for savoury pastries for us.

🌟 𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝑴𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔....𝑭𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 🌟

This time last year we took a family holiday to Normandy taking a ferry from Portsmouth to Caen, a 6-hour crossing, using one of the pet friendly cabins so our little Jack Russell Toby could be onboard with us.

🇫🇷 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘂𝗿 - a beautiful little city with a picturesque harbour. Visit the historic buildings, art galleries and cafes in the historic quarter. The walk to Chapelle Notre-Dame de Grâce is definitely worth it, a stunning small chapel on the top of a hill. There is a lovely market on Saturday mornings selling local produce and you can join a historic guided tour to learn more about the city, any day of the week. Recommended hotels: La Maison de Lucie hotel or La Ferme Saint Siméon.

🇫🇷 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 - 20-mins from Hornfleur, is another pretty town with chic boutique shops and a 2 kilometre sandy beach. Recommended hotels: Les Manoirs de Tourgéville, Les Manoirs des Portes de Deauville or Les 2 Villas.

🇫🇷 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗲𝗻 - located on the banks of the Seine, this student city has beautiful half-timbered houses, cobbled streets and Gothic churches. Visit the collections at the Museum of Fine Arts and if you are visiting in October, head to the 2nd largest funfair in France, Foire Saint Romain. Recommended hotels: Hôtel de Bourgtheroulde, Autograph Collection or Radisson Blu Hotel, Rouen Centre.
