22 Walkers have commenced their trip in Scotland this weekend 😄

Today, they ventured around "Loch an Eileen" with a couple of hill detours to provide some stunning views; with the walk distance totalling 15 miles.

With a quick stop at the loch gift and coffee shop and a pint to finish the walk at The Old Bridge Inn. The walkers have had a very busy start to their trip 😄

A wet start to the evening walks in Wokingham on Wednesday ☂️🌧️

But as the days get brighter, there is more opportunity for our Walkers to have evening adventures. The walkers completed 5 miles Wednesday evening. 😄

Well done to Caroline for leading 24 walkers on a 9.5 miler in Charlbury on Saturday.

The group managed to see stunning Cotswold views, the waterfall and some (reportedly) 'slightly dead' bluebells 🤣

On Saturday 20 walkers, ventured along the Slough arm of the Grand Union Canal to Hayes & Harlington from Slough station.

The lovely weather made for a successful walk 🌞

This Walking Wednesday, we look back to our previous weekend walk, led by Tom along the grounds of Windsor Castle from Virginia Water. 🏰

The Walkers explored the valley gardens and took in all the main features of the grounds including, the impressive Cascade; the Roman ruins of Leptis Magna, and the Totem Pole (which is expected to lay to rest in 2024).

Well done to all the Walkers who took part in this historic 10 mile walk 😄

Monday memories:
25 ramblers exploring the wonders of West Wycombe. Despite the windy weather, the group were able to continue taking their stunning walking photos! 📸 (including some of the local nature 😂)

The Only Way is Walking Sunday: The group ventured on a (mostly dry) 8 mile walk around the River Roach in Rochford.

Despite a puddled start, the group managed to stay on route the whole way around without diversions (except an unexpected pub stop at The Royal Oak).

The Only Way is Walking Trip: A quick snapshot from the Berkshire Walkers Essex Trip yesterday in partnership with the TrekEssex group 📸

13 walkers walked 13 miles from Benfleet station to (and along) Southend Pier. With a slight detour up a hill to Hadleigh Castle and a lunch stop at the Hatch in Old Leigh 🏰

The pace was fast to make our well deserved dinner reservation in Rayleigh, but a successful start to the trip. From the walk leader: Well done to all who walked this route 🎉

This Walking Wednesday, we look back on a previous 6 mile walk from Egham in Surrey. The group visited various striking artworks and monuments which commemorate the signing of the Magna Carta in 1215, as well as the RAF and Commonwealth Air Forces war memorial, plus a memorial to US President John F Kennedy!

A sunny walk on Saturday from Kintbury to Newbury.
Despite a short detour from the planned path, due to canal flooding, the Walkers enjoyed a scenic stroll along the Kennet and Avon Canal.
The walk finished with a pottery painting social at Ugly Duckling Pottery Painting, Newbury. 🎨

Last Saturday (13th April), 33 walkers ventured along the Regents Canal from Paddington station to the Limehouse Basin via Little Venice, the Limehouse and St Pancras Basins, and Victoria and Mile End Parks.

'Not only did we have a really good turnout from Berkshire Walkers, but we also had a few other joining from London, Essex and Hertfordshire. Thanks to everyone who joined this walk and for a fabulous day!'- Walk Leader

A short term Throwback Thursday.

Last weekend the Walkers took a 9.5 mile walk from Cookham.
16 walkers and a dog enjoyed a route through Cookham Dean and Bisham Woods, and after some short ascents great views over the Thames Valley. Our pub stop - the Bounty - was right next to the river.

It's walking Wednesday 😄

A few photos from Dave's first walk lead in Guildford. Featuring two dogs, the walk began with a more relaxed route along the River Wey and featured 4 hills and a climb to St Martha's Church, which the Walkers were able to tour.

Thursday Throwback 😄

A total of 29 walkers ventured through Goring and Streatley, through Common Wood and towards Lardon Chase featuring many scenic views over the hills.

A water themed walk today with plenty of flooded footpaths (with only 1 diversion), wet feet, hailstones and light rain and a view of the local sewage plant (all mixed in with a bit of sunshine)!

Today our Walkers ventured around Basingstoke and Old Basing on their 8.75 mile walk.
The walk was followed by a lovely pub stop at The Bolton Arms in Old Basing.

Thursday Throwback 😄

39 Walkers and 3 dogs explored the route along the Kennet and Avon Canal.

With a diversion through Thatcham due to the flooding, the walk leader managed to adjust the route to include
walking around the lake in the Discovery Centre. The group then rejoined the canal on the outskirts of Newbury.

Last Friday saw the continuation of the Culinary Tour, with the Walkers venturing to France through the cuisine at Cote Brasserie 🇫🇷

A great evening had by all and an exciting start to the event series. 😄

Monday Memories 😄

Earlier in February, the group met at Braziers Park near Reading for the Snowdrop Tea event, enjoying a walk around the grounds of the house and then delicious tea, coffee and home made cake inside the stately home.
In the afternoon 22 Walkers enjoyed a 6.5 mile walk to Rotherfield Peppard, taking in the Maharaja’s Well monument in Stoke Row, and Kingswood Common. Passing through ancient woodland and as the name of the walk suggests - lots of snowdrops! We ended with a(nother) refreshing drink at the Unicorn pub. 🙂

34 Walkers and a dog 😄
What a great turnout for Saturday's walk around Shiplake with a few regulars and new faces.
The group walked 8 miles, passing around Henley-On-Thames along the Chiltern Way.

This Saturday saw the continuation of the tri-chocolate tour, and the hot chocolates look amazing 😍

The group completed a 10 mile walk around Crowthorne and Wokingham and finalised their hot chocolate tour in Holme Grange Craft Village.

On Sunday, 22 Walkers ventured through Newbury and the surrounding area 🙂

The route took the group through Vodafone UK headquarters and a lunch stop at Donnington Castle. With views of the A34 twice and the Kennet canal.

The groups final stop was at the Wetherspoons in Newbury for a well deserved drink. Thanks to Jason for leading the walk 😄

A sunny Sunday walk today ☀️ starting at the Combe Gibbet War Memorial and passing by Walbury Hill (the highest hill in Berkshire). Some scenic views across the route taken by Robyn and Dan. 😄

A busy walk yesterday of 41 walkers!
Well done to Will for leading his first walk with the group (and sharing in the photography responsibilities) around Bramley and Silchester 🙂

The group managed to see a range of wildlife during their walk, including hares, deer, Highland cows and sheep! 😃
