RN90 Fully Reopening Tomorrow (Fri Feb 7) but the tunnel will be closed 12:30-14:30 (not the original 14:00-16:00) for the removal of cones and re-routing of traffic.
From Savoie News:
Traffic conditions for the weekend from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 February in Tarentaise
Following the landslide that affected the RN 90, major work was carried out under the direction of the Interdepartmental Roads Directorate (Centre-East). A strategic axis in Savoie, this road allows Savoyards as well as seasonal and vacationers to access the resorts of Tarentaise and Haute-Tarentaise during the winter school holidays.
Completion of work on RN 90 tomorrow morning
Security work continued on Thursday, February 6, 2025. The second boulder on the roadway was destroyed by explosives and cleared. The reinstallation of the 1,500 kilojoule block screen, damaged by the purge of the blocks, will be finalised tomorrow morning. The rehabilitation of the roadway (repair of the asphalt, floor marking, installation of a temporary slide) will follow immediately.
Return to normal on the RN 90 and in the Ponserand tunnel this Friday at 4:00 p.m.
To allow the reopening of the RN 90, the Ponserand tunnel will be closed on Friday, February 7 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. for the removal of two kilometres of marking. Traffic will then resume normally with two ascending lanes on the RN 90 and two descending lanes in the tunnel.
Traffic expected in Tarentaise this weekend
For this first weekend of school holidays, the estimated traffic is:
68,000 vehicles on the way up to the stations: 22,000 on Friday, 32,000 on Saturday and 14,000 on Sunday.
63,000 vehicles on the descent: 18,000 on Friday, 29,000 on Saturday and 16,000 on Sunday.
Mandatory route to make traffic more fluid:
An imposed route will be set up from Albertville. Exits n°31 (La Bathie), n°35 (Cevins), n°36 (Feissons-sur-Isère) and n°38 (Grand-Aigueblanche) will be closed.
The Iseran, Madeleine (Saint-François-Longchamp) and Cormet de Roselend (Beaufort) passes remain closed, even if some GPS applications suggest them. Motorists are advised to follow the main roads and road signs, secondary roads being reserved for emergency services.
An open reception centre in Albertville:
A reception centre will be set up at the Olympic Hall (110 avenue Joseph Fontanet, 73200 Albertville) in the early afternoon to allow motorists to take a break.
The Prefect of Savoy, François Ravier, thanks the services and companies mobilised for the rapid reopening of this essential axis.
Advice to motorists:
Check the traffic status on www.savoie-route.fr and listen to Autoroute Info (107.7) and Ici Pays de Savoie (103.9) for updates.
Don't rely on your GPS: stay on RN 90 and follow the official signs.
Be careful and patient on the roads.
