The Wiesenheim Apartments are a great no-frills option in Selva Val Gardena. Perched above the traditional resort centre, they're just a 10-minute walk from the Nives ski lift, and 5 minutes from the centre of town. Or, a short ride on the resort shuttle will take you directly to the main gondola.

Simply furnished, the apartments have white walls, wooden furniture and neutral carpets and curtains. The kitchen and living areas are spacious – perfect for sharing tasty meals and swapping slope stories at the end of the day.

The nearest supermarket is around an 8-minute walk away, so you can easily stock up on supplies for the week’s meals. Or if you don’t fancy cooking you can head into town to take advantage of Selva’s local restaurants.

La Croix Blanche sits smack dab in the middle of Chamonix. Of course, this comes with a few perks – it’s pretty quick and easy to reach the lifts for skiing and getting out and about town is a doddle. Whether you’re bound for the iconic Aiguille du Midi or planning to ski down La Brévent, it’s just a 10-minute walk to either gondola from here – so you get the best of both worlds.

The hotel has been around for a while. Having first opened back in 1793, La Croix Blanche has a rich history and that’s reflected in its architecture. From the outside, the building perfectly matches the historic, cobbled streets of Chamonix. Inside, the decoration has been kept on the simple side, but there are a few more modern touches to be found.

One of these is the decoration of the hotel’s restaurant, L’M. There’s a strong alpine feel in here and that’s reinforced by the classic Savoyard cuisine on the menu. For the best experience though, you’ll want to head out onto the terrace – there’s a rich atmosphere and you can look up at Mont Blanc while you eat.
