The NGO was founded in 1997 by a group of gamekeepers who felt that their profession was threatened by public misunderstanding and poor representation. The NGO are helping to educate and inform the public as well as making sure legislation is fair and workable. The NGO is working hard to protect gamekeeping and shooting sports and has an ever-growing membership of circa 13,000.

Essential
• Clean Driving License
• IT literate especially with Microsoft Teams and Office
• Familiar with database and website operation
• Personable
• Good Communicator
• Able to work alone or as part of a team
• Broad knowledge of gamekeeping / shooting
• Able to create social media posts

Preferable
• Qualification in IVQ or Assessing
• Experience with training
• Organising and managing events
• Substantial experience in partnership working with external organisations
• Media trained or practical experience
• Ability / willingness to understand and communicate complex legislation to the membership, internal staff and external stakeholders where applicable.
• Experience of member/customer engagement, providing a high standard of service and understanding their requirements, ideally in a similar environment.

The successful candidate will be expected to work some weekends and evenings with travel throughout the UK a possibility.

Downton Estate – Beat Keeper

We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic beat keeper to join a dedicated team on a large prestigious commercial shooting estate on the South Shropshire / North Herefordshire border.



The successful candidate must have a good attitude to work and be self-motivated with keen eye to detail. They should also have a minimum of 4 years keepering and rearing experience, and due to the nature of the job must be fit and healthy. A good team of working dogs is also essential.

Desirable qualifications but not essential would be ATV and side by side, shotgun and firearm certificate, chainsaw ticket.



The position is offered with a competitive salary and excellent accommodation.
