The World Reimagined

Forty-two giant globes form the UK’s largest public art trail by The World Reimagined, an education project about the transatlantic slave trade and its impact which will be delivered through learning programmes, community work and public art.

There will also be globes in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool City Region, and Swansea. Each of these cities has up to ten globes, with the tenth globe designed by an artist in collaboration with community members local to the trail. Over 100 artists have been involved in the project as a whole.

I found this globe in Stockwell , (Lambeth) close to the War Memorial. The artist is Neequaye Dreph Dsane. The title of the piece is Dress Code. I will be attempting to do the trail in London and get to see all of them before 13th October!

Noor Inayat Khan (1914-1944) CG MBE

This beautiful sculpture is located in Gordon Square Bloomsbury. Noor Khan lived just nearby in Taviton Street. She left her home unable to say where was going and whether she would ever return to her beloved mother and sister. She was working as a Special Operations Executive - the first female Wireless Operator to be sent from the UK and parachuted into France in 1943. She would be working with the French Resistance. Her codename was Madeleine.

She would not return to England - she was betrayed and was captured by the Germans and sent to Dachau where after enduring terrible deprivations and interrogations, she was executed. It is said that her last words before she was shot was "Liberte".

She was posthumously awarded the George Cross - the highest honour for civilians in wartime. France also honoured her with the Croix de Guerre.

It is unsigned but it is a beautiful piece of artwork created by Dreph. It was created for the 40th anniversary of the Brixton uprising 10 April 1981. The cause of the uprising and the social issues still resonate today. The image of Marvin Gaye's -the pose is from his brilliant album What's Going On. He created songs for an album that remains one of the most important piece of work in music history. It is a perfect reminder of the work the world has to .

The Life Guards one of the regiments that make up the Household Cavalry was doing their guard duty and to my joy they had a female Life Guard on duty. This is historic as for the last 350 years it has been an all male regiment.

When you've been waiting for a bus - they all come along at once! Well in this case it is a bus stand in Whitehall but buses are something that international visitors are fascinated about.

If you really want to get around Central London or beyond to experience travelling by bus and seeing other places, purchase an Oystercard (can be purchased from Tourist Information Centres, or at the ticket machines in the Transport for London underground stations).

The buses you can see were designed by Thomas Heatherwick - the same person who designed the Olympic Flame for the London Olympics 2012.

A Royal Baby has arrived and will be called Lilibet Diana - a nod to Great Grandmama & Grandma. Good news that is truly welcome.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex say their daughter, Lilibet, was born on Friday and is "settling in at home".

The Tower of London opening in May!! I can't wait to get back. There will be tears of joy!
The changes that will be put in place, we must observe, but we will make sure we are ready to take our guests around and tell the stories of Kings, lost princes and Queens.

It feels like we’ve been waiting for centuries, but we’re delighted to finally say: we’re lowering the drawbridge again! 🥳

We can’t wait to welcome you back to the Tower from Wednesday 19 May.

It’s been an incredibly difficult year for us at Historic Royal Palaces with our sites closed for long periods, but now that we can take the next step towards fully reopening, every paying visitor will help us in our financial recovery.

For the time being, we’ll still be limiting visitor capacity, and asking everyone to pre-book timed tickets in advance and follow our one-way routes while on their visit, to ensure we can offer everyone a safe and enjoyable day with us.

Prince Phillip arranged his funeral HIS way. No eulogy or tributes. It was a 'no nonsense' funeral. It was a very beautiful funeral. I'm still emotional about it as it is the end of an era. Our thoughts and condolences are with Her Majesty and her family.

I know this ia vide of an event happening in the Netherlands, but it had me thinking about our horse displays in London - the Household Mounted Cavalry riding on the Mall to or from Horseguards Parade, or as part of the Trooping the Colour. I get excited seeing horses! I love them but they don't love me so much but hey (no pun intended!), they are so beautiful to watch.

A Yeoman Warder from the Tower of London exercising on the wharf with the backdrop of Tower Bridge (it is not London Bridge!!). A perfect advert for you to come and see three of the famous London attractions. The Tower of London with more than 900 years of history to discover as well as glimpsing the crown jewels; meet Beefy 409 or other Yeoman Warders who live and guard the Tower. Tower Bridge (my most favourite bridge) can be visited to learn about its design and how the bascules are opened by the Bridge Master!
Put these places on your list for a day out in London.

Today is International Tourist Guide Day
Tourist Guides around the world are keen to get back to work showing off their cities, towns, countrysides, tell stories and help make their visitors have a great experience.

I miss seeing the faces of guests when they discover London's history through the stories I tell of its buildings, architecture, palaces, street art, street food and so much more!

My colleagues and I cannot wait to greet you and make your visit worthwhile.

I am standing in a medieval alley showing part of St Paul's Cathedral. You have to be there to see the full effect - a time traveller moment!

Our heroes come from all backgrounds and ages. Farewell Captain Sir Tom Moore and thank you for being such an inspiration to all.
100 years young, he showed is it is never too late to rise to challenges and play your part.
R.I.E.P Sir Tom.

Tomorrow will be a better day.

The World War Two veteran raised millions for NHS charities and is called a "true hero" by the PM.
