These tiny bushbabies were found in a classroom at a nearby high school. In distress, cold and looking for mum, they were brought to the sanctuary to be cared for.

The babies are being cared for by volunteers, being fed every 2-3 hours, day and night - so it's all hands on deck!๐ผ๐ค

Lion cub stalking lionness
Carefully stalking mum... As with the young of many other species, lion cubs have a very playful nature. These social interactions between members of the pride are crucial in order to develop and improve important life skills, such as hunting techniques, which the cubs will need later in life. These interactions also nurture strong bonds between young and old.
In South Africa, volunteers on our Endangered Wildlife Programme monitor collared animals to keep track of population and social dynamics, movements, prey choice and hunting success rate. Lions also have an impact on other endangered species, such as Cheetah and the African Wild Dogs - and this intra-species dynamic is also studied.
Amazing animal sitings are guaranteed!

Manta Ray conservation in Mozambique
"The sea once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever." - Jacques Costeau
The underwater world is in urgent need of preservation, with iconic marine wildlife declining at an alarming rate. Whales, dolphins, sea turtles, sharks and many fish species are all amongst the most endangered of marine wildlife and the consequences of loss of species in the marine environment are equally, if not more significant than land-based animals.
Threats to marine species are varied and often difficult to see, difficult to measure, and difficult to address. You can get involved in marine conservation in one of Africa's, if not the world's finest diving destinations, home to a rich variety of marine wildlife including manta rays, whale sharks, dolphins and sea turtles.
Mozambique is open to tourism with low Covid rates and no quarantine for entry!

Black mamba
Spotted on a game drive at the Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary - an ENORMOUS black mamba up a tree ๐๐ณ๐.
โ ๏ธ Black mambas are among the most venomous snakes in the world. If bitten by a black mamba, without immediate anti-venom a fully grown man can die within 15 to 20 minutes .
The mamba's genus name, Dendroaspis, means "tree snake." ๐ณ But unlike green mambas, black mambas don't live in trees. They spend the majority of their time on the ground, where they use their speed -- up to nearly 13 mph -- to catch prey ๐๐ฆ๐ฅ. However, as you can see, the black mamba is an excellent tree climber when he wants to be, such as when he's seeking out a bird or rodent nest, and they typically returns to the ground after their meal, as this guy is doing.
Not put off? Come join the team in Namibia! โก๏ธ โก๏ธ [email protected]

Zebedee the bushbaby
Zebedee, a greater bushbaby, came to the Malawi Wildlife Sanctuary as an infant after being found on his own in a village near Liwonde National Park.
The team have been looking after the youngster for the past few months and he'll continue to stay in their care until he's a little older and they can find a safe release site for him to begin his new life back in the wild!
Malawi has been awarded the WTO Safe Travels stamp for their rigorous Covid heath and safety policies. The sanctuary are desperate for volunteers and are fully open to welcome them!
