Trade bodies from across the aviation and travel industries are coming together for a Travel Day of Action ( ) today to put pressure on the UK Government to support a safe return to international travel.

The day of action will be calling on the UK Government to:

Allow international travel to return safely and in a risk managed way by properly implementing the Global Travel Taskforce’s plan for a traffic-light system, by expanding the Green list in line with the evidence and making restrictions more proportionate, whilst keeping a strong red list to guard against variants.

Bring forward a package of tailored financial support, including extension of furlough support, recognising that the travel sector’s ability to trade and generate income is much slower than first anticipated and more gradual than for businesses in the domestic economy.

Now this is how to look after a mummy sea lion and her pup. Way to go Dunedin.

We’ve closed John Wilson Ocean Drive to vehicles for the next month to allow some special residents to use the road safely - a New Zealand sea lion and her pup have taken up residence at the golf course next door and are regularly crossing the road to get to the beach.

You can still visit the area by foot or bicycle, but please give the sea lions lots of space (at least 20m). If you’re walking your dog in the area, please keep it on a lead as sea lions can be hard to spot.

New Zealand sea lions are endangered and one of the rarest sea lion species in the world.
