Had another great couple of days last week developing outdoor lead climbing strategies and technical skills with a repeat customer who has developed very much over the years.

I am now living back in North Wales full time now so please get in touch if you are someone wanting to develop your climbing skills, transition to outdoor climbing from indoors or just go climb some classic Welsh routes.

Super day today doing Bryant’s Gully, “the longest and one of the finest continuous scrambles in Snowdonia” over 500m vertical ascent. We could have done with more than the 4 litres of water we took.

A few great days guiding classic North Wales rock routes. First day was spent at Tremadog mopping up a few more quality lines that we missed on a previous trip there. Then a day in the pass on this trip had to include some Cromlech adventures and Gogarth is so cool we spent two days exploring Main Cliff.

This summer I’ll be be providing climbing and mountain guiding services in the UK, primarily in and around North Wales but will consider other areas too. Maybe you’re heading out to the Alps this summer and want to do some preparation for the Matterhorn or Mont Blanc, learn a little rope work or climbing in big boots.

Maybe you want to transition from indoor to outdoor climbing, from sport to trad or from seconding to leading. Could there be that one route that you’ve just “always wanted to do but never got around to”. The hill walking in Wales as well as other parts of the UK can be fantastic so learning some mountain skills and navigation could be a few days well spent rather than heading out unprepared. Please get in touch to check availability.

Work may be over for the summer but now it's time to fit in some more granite climbing for myself. These photos were taken on the amazing granite of the south face of Aiguille du Midi with fellow guide Andy P on Super DuPont.

Matterhorn summit today with Andy. Great conditions on the mountain and with a leisurely breakfast we managed to avoid most of the Matterhorn chaos. Now enjoying a beer and a second night at the Hornli hut. The stress free way of climbing the Matterhorn.

Tim Hakim who I climbed the Frendo Spur with last week and is hoping to climb the Eiger North Face to raise money for Parkinson's UK now has a Just Giving page where people can donate money to this very worthy cause. Myself and Tim would be very grateful if you could take the time to go and look at this page and if you could donate it would be much appreciated. All donations are welcome, big or small.

Here are a couple of photos from the last two days on the Frendo with Tim Hakim. This was a training route for Tim who has early onset Parkinson's and is hoping to atempt the Eiger Nordwand later this season to raise money for the Parkinson's UK charity.
