I don’t know about you, but my new year’s resolution is always quite similar: get healthier, travel more, get to know new cultures and enjoy life to the fullest. In the end, all of the things on my list have one single goal: HAPPINESS. I have a pretty simple solution on how to cross off most of the points on my list – which is, obviously, KITESURFING holidays!
So here we go.

1) You will travel to the most exotic places
2) You will get to know the locals and the culture easier
3) You will make new friends all over the world
4) You will get super fit and toned without even noticing it
5) You will be out in nature on the fresh air for most of the day
6) You will be more present, in the moment
7) You will surround yourself with happy people
8) You will keep pushing your boundaries – the sky is (not) the limit!
9) You will get smarter and more productive by kitesurfing
10) You will feel and look better

On the Puttalam Peninsula, the small town of Kalpitiya, attracts kitesurfers from all over the world, due to the trade wind consistency of 99%! Butter flat lagoons and a laidback lifestyle make this spot unbeatable!

The kiting set up?

Imagine the dreamiest freestyle set up you can – wind blowing offshore over the lagoons- keeping them butter flat and with a perfectly consistent 9/12m trade wind – and multiply that by100! Kalpitiya will be your ‘once in a lifetime’ to a ‘once a year’ kitesurf trip. There are so many flat water spots to kite around Kalpitiya. It’s kitesurf progression heaven!

When is Xtreme Nomads going?

The last 2 weeks of August/September. The windiest time is in the summer. Averaging 20 knots , you can expect to get on the water most days and it’s really unlikely not to go out every day during the windy season.

NO WIND?

We unfortunately can’t control mother nature and if the wind does turn off, not to worry!
We are talking incredible safari options, national parks , tea plantations and temples visits. Even paddleboarding through the mangroves or dolphin watching.

For a genuine ‘ once in a life time’ experience, it is as good as it gets and even after our 2 weeks, you’ll be sad to leave this heavenly kite surf destination!

Located on the West Coast of Sri Lanka is Kalpitiya, on the peninsula of Puttalam.

You can experience Flatwater, Waves, Lagoon with wind averages of 18-20 knots during our Summer Season: May to October. In Winter Season (Still 26 Degrees): December to March you can experience afternoon winds. Its also great time to see the Dolphins and Diving.

The Indian Ocean ideal for freeriding and wave riding in front of the camp. The Kalpitiya Lagoon is a perfect spot for beginners and freestyle while The Puttalam Lagoon is great for Downwind and Camping Trips. We are the best in Organized Kite Trips. We can bring you in 6 differents spots : Kalpitiya lagoon (free safety boat), donkey spot (free safety boat), magic spot ( Vella, kitetrip), Puttalam lagoon (kitetrip), Kappalady lagoon and Dream spot.
