📣 Three weeks to go and tickets are selling fast! Matthew Rosier's Berwick Parade will be taking place on Friday 28 February, Saturday 1 March & Sunday 2 March 2025 at Berwick Barracks!

Featuring hundreds of local people, this is a parade like no other ever seen in Berwick as the walls of the historic Barracks transform into a parade of giants moving and dancing in a joyful procession.

Berwick Parade has been commissioned by The Maltings (Berwick) Trust on behalf of Create Berwick, a 5-year initiative supported by North East Combined Authority and Northumberland County Council. Borderland Food Tours are small group food tours led by local guides, that showcase the tastes & tales of the Borderlands 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿&🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. Led by Allanton Inn’s Katrina, she will share the history & heritage of our unique & fascinating home through our wonderful locally sourced produce.

Valentine's at Coxon & Coxon Wine Rooms: Champagne on arrival. A bottle of delicious Red with Beef Bourguignon, or Italian White with the Cheese Soufflé if you prefer. (£30pp)

So you’re not looking for out and out schmaltz … no red roses (so very out of season that they never fully flower), no violins playing, no winged cherubs flying past, no hearts of disappointingly rubbish chocolate. You’re grown ups and you’re looking for something a little more, well, real than that. Here at the Wine Rooms, we have a more subtle offer on hand: a table for two, champagne on arrival, followed by a carefully chosen red wine to go with the delicious boeuf bourginon (made with love by Audela) or their famous cheese soufflé if preferred - paired with an Italian white (bearing a trace of a gold heart on the label; ‘Core’, pronounced ‘core-eh’ = heart). Yes, there will be candlelight, yes the wine is superb, yes there’ll be music (Sarah’s on it and loving the job, tango anyone?) but it will all be relaxed and calm enough for you to focus on each other…

Berwick-Upon-Tweed is home to the most complete bastioned town defences in England .⚔️

Control of the town passed back and forward between England and Scotland until the late 17th century. Each attack brought repairs and improvements to the fortifications, resulting in the great artillery ramparts begun in 1558. 💪
