📢 **Important Update** 📢
The UK’s passenger locator form (PLF) and all remaining testing rules for unvaccinated travellers arriving here will be scrapped on Friday 18 March, transport secretary Grant Shapps has confirmed.

Arrivals who enter the country from 4am on Friday will no longer need to complete the complex and lengthy online form, or take any Covid tests before or after travelling to the UK.

Fantastic news which is very welcome indeed!

From 11 February, eligible fully vaccinated travellers & under 18s will no longer need to take any tests on arrival in the UK.

Travellers not recognised as fully vaccinated must show a negative pre-departure test and take a PCR post-arrival test.

📢 Important Update 📢

Great news! I am pleased to share that the Government has confirmed the removal of its pre-departure test requirements for passengers travelling into England.

PCR tests and self-isolation on arrival have also been scrapped, with the government reverting to its previous requirement of a lateral flow test to be taken within 48 hours of arrival and, if positive, a PCR test to check for variants.

The changes to international travel rules will come into effect from 4am on Friday, January 7.

📢 IMPORTANT UPDATE 📢

Great news last night, as 47 more countries will soon be removed from the 🔴 Red List, which means that from this Monday, there will only be 7 countries left on it - which is fantastic!
Expensive PCR tests will also be scrapped in the coming weeks as well, meaning the testing costs will be minimal, even for large families - wonderful news I'm sure you will agree!

🚦Traffic Light Update 🚦

Fantastic news was announced about an hour ago..
The international travel traffic light system is being simplified with a single red list, as part of an overhaul of the rules from 4 October.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps also said eight countries would be taken off the red list from Wednesday.

It means people returning from places such as Turkey will no longer have to stay in hotel quarantine.

And crucially, PCR tests will no longer be required for fully vaccinated travellers returning to England.

Under the new testing regime, people who have had both jabs will not need to take a pre-departure test before leaving any country, not on the red list.

And Mr Shapps said later in October, they would be able to replace the day two PCR test with a cheaper, rapid lateral flow test.

As well as Turkey, Pakistan, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Oman, Kenya and Bangladesh are also among the destinations being removed from the red list.

The transport secretary said the new travel rules would remain in place "at least until the new year".

"The purpose is to make it easier to travel without the bureaucracy, without so many tests, and with a greater level of certainty now that we've got so many people vaccinated," he said.

These changes take effect for all arrivals from 4am on Sunday 8th August 2021 -

- Seven European countries have been added to the green list: Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Slovakia, Latvia, Romania and Norway.

- Bahrain, India, Qatar, UAE & France - Moved to Amber

- Mexico, Georgia, La Reunion & Mayotte - Moved to Red List

It is designed to makes it easy for people to check which travel companies have provided the best service to their customers, offering flexible booking options and refunds, and which ones could leave them out of pocket if circumstances change.

New research from ABTA reinforces an ongoing trend seen throughout the pandemic for people seeking the security and reassurance of booking a package holiday with a travel professional. The research, conducted at the beginning of July 2021, shows holidaymakers are 25 per cent more likely to book a holiday with a travel professional now than before the pandemic, with half citing the security of a package holiday (50 per cent) as their main reason, followed by trusting travel companies to look after them (48 per cent), and the travel professional’s up-to-date advice (42 per cent).

A complicated 🚦system which now effectively has 5 colours.. Green, Green Watchlist, Amber, Amber+ and Red.

🚦TRAVEL UPDATE: Yesterday evening, Grant Shapps of the UK Government, gave his latest
Traffic Light update, and it is as follows..
From 4.00am Monday 19th July Bulgaria & Hong Kong will be added to the Green List and Croatia & Taiwan the Green Watchlist.

Always remember to check the latest travel advice before you travel as countries and territories may have extra requirements before you get there.

Mr Schapps also said that the Balearic Islands & British Virgin Islands will move to the Amber List.

The next announcement was that four countries and territories will join the Red List to safeguard their domestic vaccine rollout, and they are Cuba, Indonesia, Myanmar and Sierra Leone. These measures are under constant review and will be guided by the latest data, and it was stated that 'We won’t hesitate to take action if needed to protect public health'

Finally, as announced recently, from 19th July if you’re fully vaccinated in the UK then you can return to England from Amber and Green countries and territories without needing to quarantine.

Well, it's the one we've patiently been waiting for, and it's finally here from 19th July.
Today’s Government announcement about ‘quarantine exemption for double-vaccinated amber arrivals’ is now coupled with the FCDO reassessing many destinations that previously had been advised against all but essential travel. Destinations most notably like Spain, Greece, France (& others including Jamaica etc) are now stating that the FCDO no longer advises against all but essential travel, based on the current assessment of COVID-19 risks.
This is an incredibly positive step and one that I more than welcome!

'At tomorrow’s Operations meeting of Ministers, will agree whether to enable fully-jabbed citizens to avoid quarantine from Amber countries from 19 July. Overseas travel should be unlocked at the same time as re-opening England, saving jobs and livelihoods.'
