European Laser Run Championships 2023
Our fantastic weekend with Warriorspac in Erding with Izzy and Eve competing in the European Laser Run Championships for Pentathlon GB.
*Perseverance*
You may already know that this weekend we've been in Munich with the twins for the European Laser Run Championships - which is part of Pentathlon GB
Along with their team mates these two only picked up a laser gun for the first time in September 2022 and informed their coach Ronan(Warriorspac) regularly they were no good at it, and would never amount to anything in this particular sport.
Nevertheless they trusted the process; they persevered. They qualified to represent Great Britain.
They practiced and practiced and practiced at laser shooting when they really just wanted to be running and this weekend they completely blew me away.
Beating a field of 30 athletes from all over Europe, Eve brought home a European gold medal in the U13 Laser Run and Izzy the Bronze.
Eve picked herself up from her disappointment in the mixed relay the night before and focused, and Izzy fought back from eleventh place to come in third. Sheer hard work, determination and not once giving up. They genuinely inspire me with their determination and perseverance.
I considered taking the shouting off this, but I think you can hear the emotion, not only from me but those around me.

Ad- What a slide! Super fun way to start the day Inflata Land Southport happy, sweaty faces all around! I did think there
might not be enough to entertain the boys especially Dan, I was very wrong, they had to be asked to leave!
With a ball pool, mega slide, giant bouncy area and an assault course they boys were in their element, flying from one thing to another. Set up at
Stanley High School Inflataland runs every weekend and everyday thought the school holidays.
With its own cafe centred around the middle of the course it was a perfect place to meet friends whilst
the boys ran off steam!

Yesterday I had a crazy manic day. One of those days where all the jobs collide. Started fairly calmly with some property advice, drafting a legal newsletter, and publishing some blog posts. But then I had an appraisal for a board role. A thought provoking, challenging, brilliant interview from an external provider that really made me catch my breath ‘a what do I want from my life moment’ - from that I went straight into a few long meetings that rolled straight into the bbc coming to the house to film a travel piece that may never see the light of day because you know, Boris resigned! As soon as they left some expert level parenting was required about an issue at school and we somehow managed to fit in the usual home from school tea, tutor, run training chaos. Home for fajitas and wine at 8! Definitely a day where the first picture was how I tried to appear and the second how I was actually feeling! Sorry to the lovely Emma and Sarah who I downloaded on when I finally got to athletics last night!
