Our small workboat 𝗩𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗻 recently completed a project at Carrington Power Station on the Manchester Ship Canal supporting Salvesen Diving UK.

The spudlegs were used to position the V***n and dive vessel 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗰𝘆𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀 to allow the divers to carry out works on the water intake.

This week our workboat 𝗩𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 is working near Acton Bridge on the Weaver Navigation supporting Mersey Engineering Construction with repairs to the river bank.

The Weaver Navigation can be easily accessed from the Manchester Ship Canal at Marsh Locks meaning Carmet continue to support various projects further inland.

𝗖𝗧 𝗩𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 arriving back on the River Mersey this week after completing the tow of the dredger Ronnie W, from Dordrecht to Runcorn.

The dredger, which is being renamed 𝗪𝗣 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿, is now owned by Draca Marine and will primarily be used to dredge sand for the construction and agricultural industry.

A busy start to the year!

On the River Mersey our workboats 𝗖𝗧 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 and 𝗩𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹, and our flattop barge 𝗖𝗧𝟱𝟬𝟭𝟴, are continuing to support Red7Marine at Woodside Ferry Terminal.

Our Eurocarrier 𝗖𝗧 𝗩𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 will soon be completing a tow from Dordrecht to Runcorn.

One of our last projects of 2024. Great to support a local activity.

Our workboats 𝗖𝗧 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 and 𝗩𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 have been supporting Red7Marine at Woodside on the River Mersey. The ferry terminal is being upgraded with two mooring plies being installed for the new pontoon which is currently being built in Liverpool.

In addition to the workboats our 50m flattop barge 𝗖𝗧𝟱𝟬𝟭𝟴 is being untallied with a 400t crawler crane on the deck.

The project is due to continue early next year.

Our base 🏠

Since starting the towage contract on the Manchester Ship Canal in 1989 we have primarily based our operations out of Eastham. Since moving into our new office in 2021 this is now our daily view.

Our Eurocarrier 𝗖𝗧 𝗩𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 has just completed another project with the jack up barge 𝗔𝗿𝗮𝗻 𝟮𝟱𝟬 on the East Coast. They were pictured towing back into Lowestoft last weekend.

Over the last couple of years the Vector has completed a number of projects with Fugro working with the same jack up barge. Credit to the crew for their continued professionalism.

Some great shots of the 𝗖𝗧 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗼𝗻 and 𝗖𝗧 𝗨𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗻 recently docking the 𝗡𝗮𝗰𝗰 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 from the River Mersey into the lock at the entrance of the Manchester Ship Canal.

For this vessel Carmet provided a full towage service with the MSC tugs then taking over for the passage on the Ship Canal between Eastham and Ellesmere Port.

As well as providing the towage services Carmet also operate the lockgtes at Eastham. A full team effort!

Carmet are continuing to support Draca Marine on the River Mersey. Our workboat 𝗩𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 and hopper barge 𝗠𝗦𝗖 𝗡𝗼𝟰𝟴 are routinely out loading sand from the dredger 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 before returning to Western Point docks on the Manchester Ship Canal.

You don’t often get to see inside our vessels! Here is a walk-around of the 'MSC Victory'. Carmet have managed the Manchester Ship Canal Tugs since 1989, all of which are now nearly 50 years old! A huge credit to the crews and shore team for maintaining the tugs to such a high standard. We’ve loved putting this video together!

We are continuing to work with our clients Hydropol on the River Weaver. Working in collaboration with VolkerMaine Services and Harlyn Solutions, we have recently supported the movement of equipment between Acton Bridge and Dutton Locks. The team had various challenges throughout the project, but with the right experience and teamwork the project was delivered safely and professionally - well done to everyone involved.
