Our road transportable workboat ‘V***n’ is now looking like new after undergoing a maintenance and overhaul programme this Winter. Some of the work undertaken on the 2011 built Meercat include a full crane overhaul, main engine top end overhauls, generator overhaul, new timber decking and new fendering.

Nowadays, it’s not too often that the MSC Tugs are required this far up the Manchester Ship Canal.

This week ‘MSC Volant’ assisted the vessel ‘Martin’ passing Mersey Weir, which is located 28 miles from along the Canal.

Carmet have recently been assisting Draca Marine with the transportation of sand from the River Mersey to Runcorn. Our workboat 'Vital' was pictured on the Manchester Ship Canal towing the hopper barge 'MSC No48', which has been restored for the operation.

Draca Marine are providing clients with a fine quality 0/2 marine sand for the construction and agricultural industry, and will soon be transporting to a berth at Salford.

You don’t often get to see inside our vessels! Here is a walk-around of the 'MSC Victory'.

Carmet have managed the Manchester Ship Canal Tugs since 1989, all of which are now nearly 50 years old! A huge credit to the crews and shore team for maintaining the tugs to such a high standard.

Our workboat 'V***n' is currently at the new IOM Terminal on the River Mersey with John Sisk & Son Ltd. Carmet have had various vessels on this site throughout the year. This latest task is providing access to the pile on the south end of the new berth.

Also in the background is our safety boat which has been working on site for a number of months.

Here are some great shots of our three harbour tugs docking the 'Atlantic Narval' into the Queen Elizabeth II Dock at Eastham yesterday. This is the first time Carmet have provided three tugs on the River Mersey.

After nearly 35 years providing towage services on the Manchester Ship Canal, this part of the business is still relatively new, with the latest ASD tug 'CT Moreton' starting operations earlier this month.
