On Monday I headed off into the sunset from Tilbury heading off for a cruise to the Midnight Sun. After a relaxing and pleasantly warm day spent by the pool and a slightly rocky night arrive in Bergen. Known as a very rainy place we were very lucky to not only have any rain but to end the day in glorious sunshine. As it was fine and clear our first stop was the Fløyen Funicular for a 2.5 minute journey up the hillside to get spectacular views of Bergen and see the Fløyen goats (very friendly). Backdown into the city and our walking tour continued seeing the Fish Market, various churches and amazing buildings before stopping for a picnic lunch at Lille Lungegårdsvann. We were soon joined by a wide variety of birds all eager for a crumb or two (pigeons, gulls, ducks and sparrows). From here we headed back towards the ship taking in Bryggen, Rosenkranztårnet and Håkanshallen as well as a bit of retail therapy along the way. Time for afternoon tea and then to watch as we headed away from Bergen for a night at sea before our next port of call.
