Took a different route down to Nanteuil this summer. En route from Saint Malo we stopped off for lunch in La Roche-sur-Yon, home to some funky hydraulic animals. A fun and unusual way to pass an hour whilst you take a break from driving.

Did a little detour via Saumur on my way back to the ferry, recently. With the Winter Olympics in full swing, the local shopping centre had an artificial Curling rink in place .... sadly the local kids were having too much fun & I didn't get chance to show off my (undoubted) skills.

French updates ...

19th May: Outdoor terraces and seating areas reopen in bars, cafes and restaurants.
9th June: Foreign tourists will be allowed int France (some form of vaccination passport may be required). Curfew eased slghtly to 2300-0600
30th June: Curfew ends

All looking a bit more positive, now that vaccinations are progressing.

Happy memories .... its been far too long since we've been able to enjoy Nanteuil.

Happy to report that "Lockdown" measures are finally being relaxed in France, with the Charente region being one of the least affected areas in the whole coutry. Fingers crossed Brits will be allowed over again in the near future.
In the meantime, this little snippet appeared in The Times yesterday .... Angouleme is a short drive from Nanteuil-en-Vallee
