There’s something so comforting about a Parisian cafe. Despite Digby’s disappearing antics we had a brilliant few days in Paris and often found ourselves drinking chocolat chaud (and wine) on a pavement table watching the world go by.

PARIS 🇫🇷 In years gone by I’ve spent days exploring this beautiful city with my best friends. We’d walk from one end to the other engrossed in our own company and stopping at shops and cafes that took our fancy.

Visiting as a family it’s a slightly different affair, fast paced and hitting all the attractions. definitely got the thumbs up. Either way there’s something for everyone and as the saying goes ….Paris is always a good idea! (Just don’t lose the dog while your here!) .janewalker

We were lucky enough to get a table DIX Restaurant with rooms 🍴🍷] last night. What a treat! With a warm welcome from Gemma our table had a view of the kitchen where Raphael worked his magic. The seasonal menu was delicious, blackberries with duck, mushroom and cauliflower risotto and beef fillet. The chocolate fondant with Bailey’s custard was a firm favourite for the boys!. It’s no wonder Dix has made it into Gault & Milau’s 2021 guide to the top new restaurant discoveries across France. We will definitely be back!

Anyone else need a little down time? I could easily climb into bed and sleep for the next 24 hours. Back to school is full on but I’m not complaining, it’s great some post Covid normality is resuming!

Thankfully for our guests it’s not too hot today at 24 degrees. We think it’s the perfect temperature to explore the gorgeous villages and vineyards surrounding the house. Then back for lunch and 40 winks by the pool in the afternoon sun ☀️

It’s change over day today and with guests arriving from Belgium, Holland and the UK, we wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU! Our guests have all been super lovely and we are so pleased with the wonderful feedback. It felt a long time coming to open our doors again, so it makes it all the more special to welcome you 🇫🇷

R E S T and recharge. Despite having more time at home over the last year it’s not always been relaxing. So make sure whether you’re at home, on a staycation or travelling you take some time to stop and rest. Switch off, unplug, be present and celebrate the beauty in doing little more than being together or even take some time on your own.

We are waiting with everything crossed to find out when we can travel. France is working towards opening its borders with other European countries. We will know more after the 15th June. Currently There is a two week quarantine set between the UK and France. This is put in place by the UK government and is being replicated by France. If the UK lift the quarantine it is our understanding that France will do the same. Hopefully, if it is safe to do so the borders will open but we will just have to wait and see. Until then here is a reminder of what it’s like to be lying by the pool if you’re staying at either of our cottages. This beautiful picture was taken by the lovely Krista last October

This is a beautiful old winery that we stumbled upon when we got lost one afternoon. There’s nothing better than exploring the country lanes, with the windows down and French radio blaring out. I can’t wait! Anyone else ready to explore again?

At the moment the fields surrounding are green and lush but by late summer they will be straw like in colour. Each month brings so much to see. Endless vines, rolling hills, farmers at work, hay being baled, tractors pottering down tiny lanes, and hopefully soon little villages bustling with French community. We’ve been visiting for over thirty years now and it never disappoints! If you’ve been to the South of France before, let me know what sights always make you unwind on your French trips? I hope it won’t be long before you can visit. Have a lovely day wherever you are x⁠

En ce moment, les champs qui entourent sont verts et luxuriants mais d'ici la fin de l'été, ils prendront une jolie couleur paille. Chaque mois apporte tant à voir. Des vignes à perte de vue, une région vallonnée, les agriculteurs au travail, les foins mis en bottes, les tracteurs qui sillonnent les sentiers, et espérons-le bientôt, les petits villages qui s'animent des festivités à la française. Nous visitons la région depuis plus de 30 ans et nous n'avons jamais été déçus! Si vous avez déjà été dans le sud de la France auparavant, dites-moi quelle est la vue qui vous détend le plus pendant vos séjours? This is the twin room in our La Pêche cottage. It’s a gorgeous two bedroom cottage which sits right next door to La Poire. They share a pool and patio area and are perfect for families who want to go away together but have their own space. One day we’ll get to go on holiday again with our friends and families. Our children will play in the pool together while we sip wine and read our books. One day soon I hope 🇫🇷 Have a lovely Sunday wherever you are x

Cover me in S U N S H I N E... it’s been tough to stay focused and motivated this last year with the pandemic wreaking havoc with mine and so many other travel businesses. I’ve not posted as much on here, feeling in limbo until travel restrictions are lifted. We obviously still don’t know when that will be. What I do know is that when we are safe to travel there is a little gem of a hideaway waiting to be explored. Nestled amongst the vineyards with beautiful views across the countryside.
