We were skiing over Christmas and managed to ski in Katschberg, Obertauern, Fanningberg, Goldeck, Bad Kleinkirchheim, Gerlitzen and Turacherhohe. Really great range of slopes, excellent snow conditions, small crowds (before Christmas) and great weather. The Austrians are so well organised, good humoured, helpful and welcoming. Always a pleasure to visit!

Direct flights from Dublin to Klagenfurt and then about an hour to the house. Really easy journey!

More snow has arrived in Carinthia - it’s been really good since the start of December, especially when compared to French and Swiss resorts. We are having the busiest winter season to date but still a slot in January and one in February. March is pretty open.

Just returned from a wonderful week in Sonnberg - cannot recommend the Kärnten Card strongly enough if you want a variety of experiences.

Perfect snow for the ski season that started in Katschberg today. Best snow in 10 years they say!

It’s due to snow all week and there is masses already. Hopefully COVID restrictions in Austria will be lifted on 13 December. At Sonnberg you are self-contained and well away from neighbours.

The snow has arrived and they are making even more each night at Katschberg. Slopes open on 18 November at Obertauern and 4 December at Katschberg.

Sonnberg is back in business after the long COVID lockdown and we have many guests booked on for the summer months and a lot of bookings for the ski season. New team from Slovenia looking after the changeovers and the garden so don’t hesitate to get across to Carinthia for a holiday.
