As of today, you can say goodbye to 100ml liquid limits and plastic bags in airport security at four UK airportsโฆ
Itโs all because of high-tech scanners that are going live across airports in the UK. Experts reckon the new rules could save you an average of 30 minutes in airport queues. Happy days!
Current Rules:
- No liquids over 100ml in hand luggage
- All liquids in clear plastic bag (20cmx20cm)
- Electronics taken out of your bag
New Rules:
- Up to 2 litres of liquid in hand luggage
- Liquids no longer needed in clear plastic bag
- Electronics can stay in your hand luggage
Which UK airports?
As of today, these new rules go live at:
- Birmingham
- London City
- Newcastle
- Teeside
Other UK airports are expected to follow suit in the next 12 months, but no dates are set for these other airports just yet.

Iconic Mirage Hotel & Resort to close permanently on July 17th.
In a surprise move to better facilitate the transition to Hard Rock. The hotel is scheduled to close for three years reopening under the new brand in spring of 2027.
It was previously believed the resort would remain operational during the change. This means the beloved and iconic Mirage Volcano will be demolished for construction and the guitar shaped hotel tower.
But the good news is there are plenty more hotels to choose in Vegas.
