Our friends over at Laker Photography & Design are raising money for Cancer Research and for a small donation of £5 which goes to a great cause you can also be in chance of winning a professional photoshoot. Hope you’re all excited for tomorrow! We’ve been setting up this afternoon and it’s looking great!

Some information for tomorrow:

The event starts at 2pm and is a ticketless event so please arrive where we have a table plan set and names on the tables ready.

Food will be brought to the tables and dietary requirements will also be brought to those who have informed us of them. This will come separately to the tiered stands. There will be unlimited squash, tea and coffee if you would like any other drinks the golf club have a bar downstairs.

We fully encourage people dressing up for the event but do not feel you have to if it is not your thing!

There is a tombola with some exciting prizes including a signed photo from Evanna Lynch who played Luna Lovegood in the films. This is £1 for 5 tickets.

We have a few stalls selling various items but please bring cash for these as there are no card machines available.

Unfortunately our photographer will be unable to attend tomorrow’s event however we will still have the photo booth area set up. This will be available for full use and selfies we ask that you enter a small donation which will go to the charities total.

There is a large car park at cams golf club so you will be fine for parking. When coming onto cams estate please follow the signs to the golf club and take the road which follows to the right. The event is upstairs when you enter the venue of which there is a lift for anyone who needs use of this.

Due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to cancel our afternoon tea on 4th November. Those booked have been contacted through emails. Please contact direct if you have not received this. However our tea on the 28th October will still be going ahead and we look forward to seeing you then.

Important information for those attending today’s tea. We will be in the room downstairs. When you enter the venue please walk through the bar and you will find the harbour room where the magic will be. Today’s event is a small one due to cancellations but we still have sweets, tombola and stalls. Our photobooth is set up but unfortunately we do not have our photographer today however you can help yourself to props to still enjoy the photobooth and we’ll be happy to take photos for you! Sorry for the radio silence. Work is still going under for our Halloween afternoon teas! The laptop is having a funny moment and I’m waiting for it to sort itself out so apologies for those waiting for updates and responses I’ve not forgotten you I should be back up and running soon but until then my planning is the old fashioned way with my lovely notebook and pen! ⚡

Gotta love a hen party. But what makes it better? Two hens! On Saturday I had the great privilege of attending a joint hen party of dear friends of mine where I made some hen party games to suit them. This included wedding bingo. I made the sheets with a variety of wedding themed photos including a twist of gay pride. We had a wonderful rainbow themed night with plenty of glitter and sparkles (I’m still finding glitter now!)

Thanks to all again for a fabulous day yesterday! The next wizarding tea will be held on Sunday 7th October. There are tickets still available for this one and the 4th November both of which are Halloween themed. So pop me a message for more details of tickets.
Whilst there’s no teas booked for the summer, the sweet cart is being hired out for a few weddings which I’m very excited about. I’m also going to be involved with a comic con in Portsmouth in July and a cosplay event in Titchfield in August. I’ll pop some more information about these over the next few days so watch this space!

Wow what a day! Thank you to all who attended today’s herbology afternoon tea. We managed to raise £329.50 for Give Gain Grow. This money will be put to some great use for the local community and the service users who attend the groups run by Give Gain Grow.
I’ll be adding more photos from the event soon but please do share yours with to!

Spell jars will be available to purchase on Sunday. These have been made by GIVE GAIN GROW in their crafting sessions. Well actually I am having a little break this evening from planning but only to pop to rehearsal as in September I’ll be playing Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray (my dream role and favourite musical). So I’m having a short break and popping to singing rehearsal but don’t worry I’m on schedule with everything in place for Sunday’s tea! See you there (ps could not resist this meme for attention!)

Busy week and it’s only Tuesday! That’s right. Along with my full time day job my evenings are not only finishing off everything for this weekends Herbology Wizard Tea but I’m also making hen party games for a hen party on Saturday night. Busy week. But I’m also very excited for it all! What are you looking forward to this week?

Last night you should have received the following email. I’ve put it on here just in case anyone missed it:

Arrival:

Please arrive from 2pm for your Herbology Class.

Please remember that when entering the Cams estate following the road to the right to go to the golf club - it is at the very top (past the businesses)
Parking:

There is a large (free) car park by Cams Golf Club - there is a sign which states the first two rows are for members only but behind that is plenty of space and we have been advised that it is usually quiet at that time as most golfers have gone home after their morning games so there won't be any problem of parking anyway.

Entrance:

Enter the club as usual and the event will be upstairs - there is a lift for anyone who requires this as well - please note that toilets are downstairs.

Drinks:

Along with refillable tea and coffee we will also have water and squash. There is a bar downstairs if you would like anything apart from this.

Food:

As per menu you should have received previously - all dietary requirements have been passed on to the venue and their kitchen and will be catered for.

Dress code:

There is no set dress code - all welcome (just not the birthday suit haha) - fancy dress is welcome but I do understand that not everyone enjoys dressing up so please don't feel you have to - just whatever you are happy and comfortable in.

Tombola and prizes:

I've got lots of prizes (I've actually lost count) and will be doing a tombola. Prizes have been labelled with numbers ending in 0 or 5 so if you find a ticket with a 0 or 5 find the corresponding ticket and prize. I hope this will also allow it to be fairer to all as more of a pot luck to get one of the star prizes like a signed photo. Please note that some prizes are not official HP merchandise and are themed to the Harry Potter world. All prizes will be themed and majority are merchandised but a handful are just for the theme as I say - tickets for the tombola is £1 for 5. On the first event this proved very popular and in fact all prizes were won within 20-30 mins so do be quick.

Photobooth:

We have the wonderful photographers from Sarah Laker photography who will be taking the pictures along with plenty of props for you all to use. The cost is £3 per photo or 4 for £10 - the images will then be emailed to you to use as you wish after the event.

Honeydukes Sweet Cart:

I've created a pic 'n' mix style with sweets starting from 1p

Other items:

You may have seen lots of the items shared on facebook regarding for sale items. This includes the HP glasses, potion bottles and honeyduke sweet necklaces. These will be around the room and available to purchase on the day. - Please note that the stalls including sweetcart, photobooth and tombola is cash only and we unfortunately do not have a card machine.

Miscellanious:

I know how restless children may get and so there will be free colouring etc set up for children (and any adults - no reason why us adults can't join in) to take advantage of during the afternoon.

There will be a table plan so you can see the table you are on and each table will have place cards too.

The tables will all be decorated in a full Herbology Style with plants kindly leant to us having been grown by Give Gain Grow.

Please also note that all stalls will only be accepting cash on the day.

Just to confirm that money raised will be going to local group Give Gain Grow. For those of you who don't know Give Gain Grow who are based in Gosport create inclusive groups for adults with mental health issues and learning disabilities. You may or may not know that these groups are few and far between especially in the Fareham/Gosport area. I have been lucky to see the great work this group does first hand by taking patients from my day to day job to these groups and I have seen their confidence and skills grow. I felt as they had done so much to help my patients I wanted to raise some money to help them continue their work. I am also proud to be a member of their committee having been asked to join them when I offered my assistance. Do check their pages out. If you want the link let me know and I'll send them across.

I'll announce the total raised on Facebook so you can see but I want to say a massive thank you for coming because each and every one of you are helping to make a difference and your support for this event has been gratefully received.

Sorry for the quietness guys! It’s been a busy old time. But just one week to go till our next event! I’ll be emailing everyone this evening with the final details of next weeks tea.
I’ve got everything ready to go and tombola prizes set to be won including this signed photo sent by the best wizard dad I know (my dad’s a muggle so I’m allowed to say that) Mr Weasley himself Mark Williams.

So sad to hear that tools were stolen from Gosport’s Give Gain and Grow group. The group which we will be donated all proceeds from June’s Herbology tea too work with adults with mental health issues and learning disabilities helping them to gain confidence, learn new skills, meet new people and get back into the community. The group do so much good and amongst the items stolen were specially adapted tools to help those with arthritis etc.
We still have a few tickets left for June’s event so please get in touch as money raised can help this group replace these much needed tools in order to help support more people in the local area
