The Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza concert will return on Saturday, August 3rd with a headline performance from Keane who are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their acclaimed debut album, Hopes and Fears.

Tickets are on sale now.

Also performing in the Abbey’s historic surroundings will be the Shepton Mallet Big Band, plus special guests to be announced! The event will conclude with the traditional fireworks finale.
Tickets cost £45 for adults and £25 for children aged up to 16. Any remaining tickets will cost £50 / £30 on the gate. More info:

We will be open later in the evenings over the Easter bank holiday weekend, giving you even longer to enjoy your visit to the Roman Baths! Enjoy a rare chance to see the Great Bath illuminated by torchlight, explore the museum and collection at a relaxed pace, and enjoy a drink under the evening sky at our pop-up prosecco bar.

We will be open until 8pm from Friday 29 March (Good Friday) to Monday 1 April (Easter Monday), with last entry at 7pm. The bar will be open from 12 noon to 7.30pm, serving prosecco, Champagne, soft drinks and hot chocolate.

We are delighted to announce the fourth visiting locomotive that will be present at the Spring Steam Spectacular 2024 as GWR 28XX Class 2-8-0 no.2807. The loco will arrive in March and work regular service trains prior to the Gala. Appearing courtesy of Cotswold Steam Preservation Ltd and the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway, no.2807 will be in action on all four days of the Spring Steam Spectacular between Friday 3rd May and Monday 6th May.

This visit will be the first for the loco since returning to traffic late last year, and we are grateful to the CSPL for loaning us the locomotive so early in its boiler ticket. No.2807 last visited the WSR in Spring 2011, therefore another visit is well overdue!

We still have one further star visiting locomotive announcement to make, but the lineup currently stands at:

- LNER B1 4-6-0 no.61306 'Mayflower'

A flock of 20 whooper swans have just landed at WWT Slimbridge. (Not to be confused with the very similar looking Bewick's swans). 😄

Appears to be the largest flock reported in Gloucestershire!
