THE BIG MOVIE QUIZ - Christmas Special!

Go to bringyourbaby.org to buy and download. Each full quiz costs £10.

After a cult following online, we’re giving you the opportunity to buy complete sets of The Big Movie Quiz to play at home! All quizzes have been updated and refreshed with new questions as of November 2024.

Written lovingly by the legend that is professional quiz writer Anthony, who also writes and hosts our award-winning Bring Your Baby Pub Quizzes in pubs across London and the South East of England.

Each quiz will probably take about 1 and a half hours to 2 hours to play, depending on how quickly you go through questions, so would make a great social activity!

Upon purchase you will be able to download:
- picture round sheet (PDF to print)
- questions & answers sheet (PDF to print) for your host
- questions only sheet (for hosts to use so that quizzers can’t spot the answers - PDF to print)
- answer sheet for quizzers to fill in their answers - PDF to print

Music round playlists can be compiled by your host by using a streaming device (to play connected to a speaker if necessary). All track listings are given on the questions & answers sheet.

Rounds for this quiz:

- Round 1: Picture round - name the Christmas movie
- Round 2: “All About Christmas”
- Round 3: “Christmas Words”
- Round 4: Music round - name the artist from the song featured on the “Love Actually” soundtrack
- Round 5: Connection round (you will need to buy the quiz to see this in case of spoilers)
- Round 6: “Baby It’s Cold Outside”

Each quiz also comes with two tie breakers in case of a draw!

We have nearly 30 movie quizzes to upload shortly, including 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and Christmas specials. Please check back for when they drop!

Quizzes are for at-home use only, not for commercial use, and are marked with our copyright. Please contact [email protected] if you are a commercial organisation - such as a pub - that would like to purchase a quiz / quizzes for commercial use.

🎄BE LIKE SCROOGE! Get a second chance…. As this Tuesday we have an extra date for our previously s*ld-out BRING YOUR BABY GUIDED LONDON WALK: "Dickensian Alleyways of the Old City at Christmas" - an "A Christmas Carol" themed walk! 🎄

Tuesday 17th December, 11am-2pm

Booking and full details at https://bringyourbaby.org

Walk description:

'A Christmas Carol' is Charles Dickens's best known and best loved work. The numerous adaptations of the novella that are being performed in London this Christmas show that the story is just as popular today as in 1843 when it was published.

Famously telling the story of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge as he spends Christmas Eve in the company of the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come, on this walk we will visit numerous locations from the narrative.

What you’ll see and hear about on this Dickensian-themed Christmas walk:

- Victorian Leadenhall Market - decorated for Christmas - with many connections to Dickens (and Harry Potter!).

- Sites of Ebeneezer Scrooge’s Counting House and a possible contender for his home.

- Where Scrooge's clerk Bob Cratchit "went down a slide... twenty times in honour of it being Christmas-eve".

- The peaceful churchyard from ‘Our Mutual Friend’, described by Dickens as the church of ‘the Great Golden Keys', and where Scrooge may have been shown his own grave by The Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come.

- Many atmospheric ancient courts and alleyways, where we encounter Dickens’ favourite chop house, a setting for The Pickwick Papers, and very possibly where Scrooge spends Christmas Eve eating "..his melancholy dinner in his usual melancholy tavern".

- The church "...whose gruff old bell was always peeping slily down at Scrooge out of a gothic window in the wall...".

- The building where Scrooge observes aquaintances discussing his death.

- London’s 1st coffee house - meeting place of slave traders.

- The spot where, each night, Dickens gazed at the home of his first great love.

- The building where the poor and hungry young Dickens stared longingly through its kitchen windows.

- Plus! Hear about the some Victorian Christmas traditions along the way, including making Christmas puddings, pulling crackers, sending cards and assembling a Christmas tree - and find out where in London some of these were invented!

The first Christmas walk of the season kicked off yesterday, and it was just lovely. We explored the courts and alleyways that Dickens knew so well, and which inspired him during bouts of insomnia as he paced the City streets on his “night walks”. Out of the shadows came Ebenezer Scrooge, and the greatest Christmas story ever known was born (IMO).

How this baby was born...

Each walk has been planned so that you can stop whenever you like to feed and change - without the stress of feeling you are holding up the group. Because every participant brings their baby, patience and baby’s needs are at the forefront of each walk.

As a local historian and also a recent new mother, I noticed there was a real absence of activities for parents and carers to enjoy something stimulating for both brain and body while caring for baby.

The focus of these walks is enjoyment: gaining new local history knowledge and exploring the outdoors, while at the same time feeling unpressured when baby’s needs arise.

Everyone who comes along is welcome to stop as they need to comfort, feed and change. Either we can stop as a group, or you can use the map provided to rejoin us further along the route. There are many stops, and always lots to see and hear about, so it is always easy to catch up.
