Just spent 4 nights on this gorgeous beachโ€ฆ

From our experience, Brufut Beach is a hidden gemโ€”a tranquil haven stretching (4km!) from Joseph Pelican Beach Bar to the fishing hub of Ghana Town. Itโ€™s a serene and untouched white sand beach with clear blue waters, perfect for unwinding with the sound of the waves, songs of vibrant birds and the occasional, distant sounds of African drums.

We found the ideal spot to relax with cold drinks at one of the small beach bars: Paradise Found, run be a retired Welsh couple!! It feels far removed from the busier, tourist-filled areas, with only a handful of visitors, local families and some fisherman, sharing this slice of paradise.

Excursion to local markets, the Gambia River and more can be arranged from here, but relaxation was the top of the list for us!!

We split our time between the serene, unspoiled beach area and fishing village of Sanyang in the south and the more tourism-oriented yet equally tranquil shores of Brufut further north.
